Summary: Davide and Akutsu make it out of the labs and try to regroup during their escape.
The blood-spattered, white haired mutant kept running. He ran behind a tall redhead, both of them ducking into alley ways and cutting behind homes. Escaping.
The world, for Akutsu Jin, was spinning. His mind was back in the lab they'd broken out of. Of a broken body, lying motionlessly in the cage that had trapped him. And vague snatches of what had happened. Something like this, he'd always been afraid of. That he could never attract attention, because then the bad men would come. He didn't know where he'd learned this, only that now, this time, they had come.
And he'd killed some woman, under the influence of their drugs. Somewhere, in the back of his head, every animal fiber of his being was screaming in grief, and he didn't understand it. Finally, he had to stop, grabbing Davide's arm in an alley and pulling him back. The other mutant, Kaidoh, was no where to be seen, having separated from them in the breakout.
"Red", he panted, trying to get his bearings. "What the fuck happened in there?"
"Nothing good, Akkun," Davide said quietly. He tried to catch his breath, somewhat glad for the pause. A cut across his forearm bled openly, and though it was shallow, it was long, and Davide felt a little lightheaded. He looked closely at the other mutant for a moment, before asking, "Are you all right?" He wasn't looking good, and whoever that woman was, back at the lab, it must have been someone close to him.
"Fuckin' peachy", Akutsu growled under his breath. "Just fuckin' peachy, Red. No, I'm not fucking okay, okay?" His moods were still snapping back and forth, from foul to fouler, although most of the need for maddening violence had tapered off, the drug finally starting to leave his system. He ran a slightly shaky hand through his hair and crouched down, resting on the balls of his feet for a moment. "Fuck...fuck fuck fuck! You okay, Red? You're bleedin'", he said, not even bothering to look up. He didn't have to, smelling Davide's wound easily. "How the fuck'd you get out?"
"Someone dropped a key," Davide said. True, but vaguely so. He ignored the question about his arm, and glanced around to make sure they were still alone and unfollowed. Escape...check. Now to get somewhere safe, quickly. Going home was out of the question, since there were too many 'cons' to that argument (and this whole event when against the 'don't do anything stupid' clause), so the next best place would be back to the school.
He reached out to grasp Akutsu's arm, and pulled him into a standing position again. "Slow and steady's not going to win this race... We can go to the school."
"What, we gonna win by a hare?" Akutsu could only blame the whirlwind of shifting emotions and thoughts inside of him for slipping right into Davide's wordplay again. He let the redhead pull him up, muttering and distracted by the smell of blood. "What dipshit'd be fucking dumb enough to drop a key...?" It took him a moment to let the rest of the words sink in. "Wait...what fucking school? I'm not going to some fucking kiddie school!" He growled and snatched Davide's arm, yanking him back.
This close, he was getting several smells all at once, and they were just compounding his confusion. He smelled the others blood, still oozing from his arm, and the blood on himself, none of it his. Then there was Davide's smell itself, somehow drawing him in a way...He growled low in his throat, stepping a little closer before catching himself and shaking his head. It was all fucking with him, and he wasn't getting any answers.
"Tell me what fucking happened", he managed to bite out, hand tightening around the other's arm. "Or we'll just fucking stand here til they find us."
Davide rubbed his cheek with the back of his hand, thinking for a moment. He could count on his hearing to give them heads up, he supposed, and again took Akutsu's arm. Whether it was to steady himself or the other, Davide couldn't tell, and he didn't dwell on it. "The woman gave me the key," he said, "And she asked so nicely, so don't waste the chance she's giving you, Ookami-kun." He pulled gently on their joined arm. "Run, run, run."
"Wait." Akutsu's voice was tinged with a hint of desperation now. She gave him a chance? And why the hell was Red hell bent on helping him like this? And he couldn't forget that feeling that he remembered that smell, the woman's smell. Like he was supposed to know her.
"Who was she? She told you, right? I need to know so fucking tell me!" He shook the redhead a little, the need and confusion making him even more short tempered than the mood swings.
Suddenly it's all falling apart, the redhead decided. This was really not the time to do this. "You were hers, and that's all she said." If he had to guess, if Davide really had to guess, the woman was either a mother or a lover. The first was more likely, but if the second were true, it wouldn't be a surprise either.
"But you heard a name, right?" Akutsu pressed him, fully aware that yeah, this wasn't the time to be haggling over details, but he couldn't stop himself. Ever since that ass, Osamu, showed him that file, a name had been kicking around in his head. If it was the same woman..."Damn it, Red! Did you get her name?"
Amane thought back, distancing himself for a moment. He thought about the sounds, the noise and echoes, the strange slide of needles from caps, and the metal clamps pinching soft flesh. Separate the sounds...file the noises away... Suddenly, there was the smack of the woman falling against the cage, shoes stumbling on the floor, and the very small sound of the key coming in sharp contact with her fingernails... This was his memory of the woman, in the brief moment with her, but before that...
"Akutsu Yuki," Davide said, and he snapped out of the memory. The lab coat in charge had said it with a self-absorbed sense of familiarity. "Her name was Yuki."
That was the name. Hearing it confirmed, Akutsu let go of Davide dazedly and stumbled back a couple of steps. Akutsu Yuki. The one he'd been looking for since he'd come to Japan, or so his file said. And he'd killed her. Now the grieving made sense. His instincts had been telling him what he'd forgotten. Or, what had been stolen from him.
"Yuki...Yuki...", he mumbled, eyes unfocused as he stared at nothing. "...Mom?"
Ah, first guess was right, then. Another wave of dizziness made him sway in place, prompting another attempt at continuing the escape. He grabbed Akutsu's wrist and pulled him along, continuing in a somewhat zig-zag pattern towards Ryuhana. Don't let them turn him into a monster. For the key, given blindly, Davide would see this through. Safety first, though, and monster prevention afterwards.
Davide glanced back as they ran, trying to assess the state of his companion. "Akkun?" He called the name lightly, watching for a reaction. They were nearing more familiar areas, not too far from the gates of the school.
It was as though Davide's soft little nickname for him broke through his shock and sent him careening back into reality. Cause oh yeah...the pain was fucking real. It was a dull ice pick, piercing his chest and making it hard to breathe. Anyone would have crumpled under the sudden acuteness of it. But Akutsu, being Akutsu, yanked himself away from the Ryuhana student and tried to battle it back, stopping in between two buildings to smash his fist into a wall. He punched as hard as he could, until his skin was torn in places and his bones threatening to shatter, but the physical pain just wasn't enough.
He made inarticulate sounds of anger and pain under it all and stopped just short of launching himself violently at Davide. This wasn't working...it just wasn't fucking working! He'd killed the one person he'd been searching for all this time, and there would never be a chance to know her again, to know why the hell they'd been separated. He had her blood on his hands. On his clothes.
He felt sick, and angry, and the pain wasn't stopping. He'd only added to it.
Startled, Davide stumbled. His first instinct to reach for the other mutant was abandoned with the sudden outburst against the wall. He couldn't bring himself to say something - anything - and stood there with a concerned (concerned? Odd...) feeling twisting in his chest. He took a step back towards Akutsu, but didn't do or say anything else.
He didn't have to. Akutsu brought a hand up to his face, rubbing for a moment. Underneath everything, all the shit and blood and pain and despair, there was Davide's scent. The redhead was too damn close and too damn trusting, and because nothing else was working, he reached out and grabbed the student, pulling until they were close enough to share breath.
If he didn't do something quick, he was going to explode or break. Or both. He couldn't stand this feeling of pain and rage.
Davide ended up being pushed against the wall. Akutsu's mouth followed, crushing down on the others in a wild, desperate fury. Even in a strange and somewhat awkward situation as this, the redhead found himself instinctively kissing back, though not with nearly as much force. A kiss was a kiss...who was he to deny it? This was yet another thing on the Interesting List of Akkun~, and Davide quashed the sudden desire to laugh.
He broke away and managed to say, "What...?" The train of thought ended there, since he didn't quite know what he was asking for. What was that? What are you doing? Rather self-explanatory... He caught his breath, trying to balance himself again. He couldn't tell what was causing his unsteadiness any more.
"Shut up", Akutsu managed to growl softly. "Shut up. I need...I have to feel something else." His voice got softer and hitched in a few places as he spoke, but it still managed to be harsh. "Just shut the hell up...and fucking let me, okay?" He didn't bother to wait for a response, nipping Davide's neck with his teeth and closing his lips back against the redhead's lips. It was less forceful this time, but no less desperate and wanting. His hands were already moving of their own accord, stealing under Davide's shirt, groping the curve of his ass as his body pressed the others further against the wall.
Davide had been told many times in his life to shut up, but he couldn't ever remember hearing it being said to him like that. It was that growl that he had first heard, at the beginning of this whole mess, humming somewhere between the throat and the chest. He held onto the vibration without acknowledging the rest of what was said, and lost hold of it when teeth moved against his neck and then a mouth closed over his.
In the air around them he heard, "...let me, okay?" And Davide did, moving into roaming hands. He closed his eyes and gave up sight, not wanting to think about the blood splattered on the both of them. He instead concentrated on the sound of another heartbeat against his; it was something he hadn't heard for a while. He dropped his hands down Akutsu's back, dragging his fingers across the fabric of the shirt. At the hem, he pulled his hands underneath and moved upwards, raking blunted nails over skin.
That felt damn good to Akutsu. He got little chills along his back from Davide's nails, and in a normal frame of mind he'd have to admit that the redhead was a pretty decent kisser, and tasted damn good to boot. But his mind was on getting more, on feeling anything other than the hollow ache in his chest and the oily black rage threatening to overwhelm him.
An alley was no place for a full on fuck fest. Especially when chances are they were still being pursued. Plus he was too damn impatient to bother with their clothes. Akutsu's hands dropped down, working Davide's pants open, fingers moving roughly over skin. With the redhead's pants loosened, he could now slip both hands inside to grab and squeeze his ass, grinding himself into him with blind need.
Immediate was good, Davide thought, biting Akutsu's lip in an attempt to stop himself from swearing. He wrapped an arm around the other's back, fingers dipping below the waistband and digging into the soft flesh a little. His other hand worked between them, returning the favour over buttons and zips, ghosting over Akutsu's belly teasingly and settling along the curve of a hip.
That alone was enough to spike the white-haired mutant's lust and nudge it closer out of his control as Akutsu growled in his throat. He ripped Davide's pants down far enough to take hold of him, pumping the redhead's growing erection in his fist. With his other hand, he circled Davide's wrist, taking the hand that was teasing his hip and dragging it to where he wanted it.
His mouth, in the meantime, latched onto an earlobe, biting and sucking hard on it before diverting back to his mouth to swallow both of their curses.
A swear and a smile, and Davide complied, curling his fingers loosely and moving intentionally at an erratic pace. Teeth at his ear, how brilliant. He gasp-laughed and his hips jerked forward. A buzz was building at the back of his brain, clouding his thoughts, and all he could do was touch more, taste more. He abandoned the intention to play with the pace and instead tried to match Akutsu. "Off beats," he murmured to himself, and tightened his fingers.
"Fuck", Akutsu growled, muffled now as his mouth began to worry and bite at the skin between Davide's neck and shoulder. He didn't know what the hell the redhead was talking about beats for, but he could feel them starting to fall into sync, jerking themselves into the other's hand. As a distraction, it was working pretty fucking well.
Sucking hard on Davide's neck, Akutsu's hand suddenly shifted, knocking the other hand off of his erection, and wrapping around both of their cocks, rubbing them together. He needed more, wanted as much of the other as he could get, and this felt closer and hotter...
He felt somewhat deaf, stuck between the blood rushing in his ears, their jagged breaths and the back and forth of being jerked off together. Davide gave up on keeping his eyes closed, and let one arm fall back against the wall behind him so he could see what Akutsu was doing. His other arm remained across the other's shoulders, splayed fingers dipping along the curve of the collarbone repeatedly.
Akutsu was biting harder now, everything in his mind being forgotten in the blaze of his lust as he got closer to the end. All of his chaotic emotions were being drowned out just from the immediate need he had of Davide, the redhead now the only focal point. Panting hard and groaning harshly through the low-grade growling that had continued in his throat the entire time, he managed to slip his free arm around the other's waist and pull them that much closer. Their mouths met in one last searing kiss as Akutsu jerked hard and felt himself erupt.
It all burst at once, and sound distorted for a moment. There was so much heat, in his chest, across his stomach and between his legs, and suddenly it all flared. Davide groaned into the kiss, hearing that sound, feeling it - the constant growl from Akutsu. It shouldn't have been all that important, but it was, all of it was, and it all collected around them, bouncing and braiding into the distortion. His neck tingled and felt cold without the previous attention it had received, and sore. Really sore.
"Ookami-kun, indeed," Davide said breathlessly. He pressed a kiss to the corner of Akutsu's mouth, not caring if it was too personal, or something along those lines. It really didn't matter. The sound distortion had untangled itself and gone to normal, as well, and the roaring in Davide's ears was subsiding.
Slumped and pinning the other against the wall with his weight, Akutsu was recovering enough to lean in close to Davide's abused ear. "Shut up", he murmured lowly, the comment lacking any heat or malice but being very much full of satisfaction. "Or I'll eat ya, Red." He didn't even mind the play on words for the moment, minutely nuzzling Davide's ear before licking a spot.
He wasn't completely healed by sex, he knew. No lay was that good, even if later he might think that came in pretty damn close. But he felt lighter, and too drained to bother acknowledging anything else other than that he didn't feel the rage anymore, or the pain as acutely. He'd basically just crashed emotionally, and was riding that light feeling for as long as he could.
"You good to walk? Shouldn't stay here", he tossed out, recovering his strength as he cleaned them up as best he could, absently licking some of the mess on his wrist and wrangling his own pants closed.
"I-" Davide's legs buckled on him, surprising him. Surely... "Well, that's odd." Thinking for a moment (thinking, what a novel and recently absent thing to do), he supposed that with everything that had happened - the fights, cages and running - perhaps it wasn't too surprising that his legs were organizing a protest without his consent. ...Though Akutsu seemed as if he had been balanced out again.
Davide leaned against the wall and fixed his pants, instead of responding any further.
Akutsu bit out a foul little curse, already yanking his thin shirt off and ripping it from hem to collar. He could smell the damn blood, why the hell hadn't the other said anything about the damn wound? Idiot.
He made short work out of fixing his shirt into a sort of bandage around the still oozing slash, and mentally cussed himself and Davide out for their mutual stupidity. Still, there was no way the redhead was walking, much less running. Turning around, he pressed his back against Davide's chest. "Hold on, we're gettin' the fuck out of here", he growled, stooping low enough to snatch up the other's long legs and curl his forearms under them. It was pretty awkward at first, given how tall Davide was, but Akutsu had no problem carrying his weight easily and moved briskly out of the alley the second his strange new lover wrapped arms around his shoulders.
"Better tell me where the hell we're going here, Red", he said, eyes darting here and there cautiously, ready for the first hint of danger to bolt with the redhead.
"Yonder, good steed," Davide said fuzzily. He pointed off in the direction of the school. Clearly he must have passed out somewhere, because from the starting point to the finish, too many things were fun and interesting and dangerous, and weird....all indicators of a cleverly crafted dream. His head ached, though, and it was getting distracting. He wondered where his iPod had gotten to, and though music usually made a headache go away, it was really too much effort to check his pockets.
"Just because I'm hung like one..." Akutsu grumbled under his breath absently, looking this way and that as he closed the gap between them and Ryuhana's gates. He knew where he was now, and didn't appreciate the irony one damn bit.
They were back, at the very gates that they'd met at. He stopped for a moment, staring at the dragon crest on the iron bars, feeling Davide's limp, warm body draped across his back. "Yo, Red...there gonna be alarms when I kick that thing open?", he asked, looking a little anxiously where he knew the security cameras to be.
"The booth," Davide muttered, letting go of Akutsu for a minute. He fumbled in his pockets, looking for his wallet. "Security guard needs to ID and we can go in. Be my guest, Akkun~" iPod was in his pockets after all. And a random tuning fork...well, at least he had one of them. He flipped his wallet open, flicking clumsily through the cards for his student one.
Guards...Akutsu didn't trust guards, even lowly security ones. He stared down at the card Davide flashed under his nose and snorted. "How the hell's that gonna help me when I don't have one, Red?" he asked.
"Do steeds need ID when the knights ride in on them?" Davide asked. He waved at the booth, hoping the guard would see him. "And I'd rather you carry me, then him, because the grand return to the castle is less grand when one's legs protest the movement..." His mouth was babbling without any regard to the general sense of things. "And you should come in here anyway. Sanctuary, whatnot."
"Why don't you just shut up now, Red?", Akutsu finally asked, seeing movement from the booth Davide had indicated. They'd probably been spotted by now anyways. He snatched the ID and tried to keep a good enough distance when the guard came running over. Apparently, Davide looked worse than he sounded, especially being a limp doll on the back of a shirtless Akutsu.
"He goes here", Akutsu barked simply, flashing the ID. "Just open the damn gates so they can take care of him."
Davide held onto Akutsu perhaps a little too tightly and added, "Both of us, please. Saved my life, mutant exploitation out there...with...tuning forks." He forgot where he was going with that sentence. "Someone's after us." He rested his head against Akutsu's and tried to resist the urge to sleep right there.
Almost gagging at the arms tightening around his neck, Akutsu couldn't really keep his eyes on the guard, still watching for those military goons or coats to come chasing after them. And Davide wasn't making any sense anymore--surprise, surprise--so he didn't have the patience for this formality shit. "Open it or I kick it in", he growled, aware that the redhead was slumping even more on his back, and stalked quickly through the gates as soon as the guard ran back to the booth to hit the button.
He never thought he'd be so glad to be trapped inside the kiddie school's gated playground, but it definitely felt fucking safer than being out there. Where the bad men were.
Where Akutsu Yuki's broken body was.
He kept going, Davide's feet dangling limply and smacking his knees lightly as he walked. If he could have spared a hand, he might have flipped that damn dragon on the gates off. Just to be an ass.
ooc: Starting Sunday night, Akutsu will be confined in Ryuhana's medlab, in order to sequester him away from students due to his past encounters on campus, as well as give him temporary sanctuary. This won't be a problem for him since he'll be keeping an eye on Davide, but any of Davide's well-wishers, visitors, or just students peeking into the medlab will likely be treated to sour looks, glares, or outright growling from Aku.
Rated: NC-17. Naughty language and even naughtier goings on.
