date; Tonight a bit past 2am.
rating; PG for stupidity.
summary; Quoting Bucky: "Boys might be boys or girls, but idiots will always be dumb <3", and from myself: yes, it is that bad. \:D/ But I still think it's one of the best logs in the history of logs. xD

Niou's got ants in his pants. He knows he's not giving Yagyuu any peace; doesn't even want to go into his-and-Ryoma's apartment to find things or mind them anymore, because it smells like Ryoma-and-Yuuta now. And it's too hot, anyway. He's sick of not being worried, and not thinking of not asking Hanamura to help. Flopped over on the ground outside after two random hours of training past midnight, he's still got restless nerves. It's making him feel like Kirihara, and he hates it.

He hits #4 on his speed dial, not really caring about the time or distance, or the fact that he's still a bit out of breath right now. He half doesn't expect anybody to pick up, anyway.

Rin's been actually sleeping at this hour, even if his day consisted mostly of hanging around the beach and napping together with Furball -- so he wasn't all that tired. When his phone rang, it wakes him up immediately, the noise always being a little painful on his ears, and Rin pushes himself up lazily, hair all over the place. It rings again, and he checks the caller ID on the screen. Niou. Really, the blonde mutant was quite set on not answering any calls from Ryuhana, but Niou is Niou. Family, not just Ryuhana. Besides, he has exactly same feelings about the school as he does, so... with the third ring, Rin picks up, "What, for the love of God, makes you call me at this ungodly hour?" He rubs his eyes, slurring the words a bit.

"Princess <3" the phaser chuckles. "Just wanted t'check you were still alive all'a way over there, 'n haven't eaten any Cure goods lately, without us." His words slur in the same way that Rin's do, copying the articulation without the tone, because it's funny. He isn't really worried about Rin, though. Last person on the planet to fret over. If he's dead, it's Armageddon for serious.

Rin allows his sigh to be audible over the phone, but he is smiling, amused, "Nah, I don't touch food from unknown sources, anymore. Besides~, I don't think Okinawa heard of the Cure..." He runs a hand through his hair, instinctively trying to make it look decent, or at least half decent, "Thank you for your concern, though~." And Rin is about to wink, but then realizes Niou won't see it anyway, so he snickers partly at Niou, partly at himself.

Niou nods a little bow. "Yeah, I worry 'bout'cha," he chuckles in return. "Y' makin' my hair get whiter than it already is. Sleepin' well, without us bein' noisy <3?" He's really got nothing useful to say, but he likes the fact they're talking, and so they'll keep on talking for now, if Rin'll let him.

"Quite well, I admit~," Rin grinned, making the amusement audible in his voice, "Are you still being just as noisy~? How are things going there, without one of the only two sane people around~?"

Niou pouts into the speaker. "I'm dyin' over here, Princess," he says, all angst and whining, melodramatic seriousness. "The sanity's killin' me </3"

Rin can't help but snicker again, covering his mouth with his hand to muffle it a bit -- it comes out a little like a giggle, but he doesn't care, "Well damn, I should come to the rescue now, but my plane ticket is for the last day of November." He makes a motion with his hand, even if it won't go through, obviously, and lets his voice take up a melodramatic tone as well, "Can you hang on until then~? Please say yes, Jester~san. <3"

Niou brings his voice to the verge of tears. "I don't know! </3 What if I can't, Princess? What if I wither and die here, waiting -- just waiting for you to save me?" It's a complete role reversal, but who really cares? Japan's gender equality could always use more work, anyway.

Rin lets out a shocked gasp, and almost, almost whispers 'oh noes!', but really just leaves the thought inside his head, aloud he continues in a similar tone, "Then I shall avenge your death! No one! Not even sanity, has the right to do this! And then I'll find a way to bring you back to life~," he wipes an imaginary tear from one eye.

"Wait, wait -- Princess, hold that thought..." Niou stage-whispers, aside. He rolls onto his stomach, and raises a hand to his mouth, as if speaking in secrets. "But... what if I don't want to die first? I mean, dying's gotta kinda suck, right?" Well, the Other Fuji Yuuta thought so, anyway. "Maybe I don't wanna do that..."

Rin puts a hand to his mouth, in a somewhat shocked gesture, "But is there another way?" He whispers back, eyes wandering around the room, as if to check if no one is eavesdropping -- even though no one, aside from him and Furball in his lap, is here, "I suppose I'll have to cut my sanity trip short, I can't have you dying after all~, if you do not wish to," he sighs, before melodramatically throwing himself back onto the bed, dislodging the cat onto his stomach with the movement.

Niou chuckles almost sardonically. He knows Rin would come back, if it really came to that, because for all that they didn't say it, and didn't act anything special, they were practically family. The ultimate anti-typical-nuclear family, what with the Echizen's being nuts and stuff... but. Still family. Kinda.

Niou knows Rin needs the time off more than Niou needs somebody else here to suffer with, anyway </3 "Nah, your job's t'grow enough sanity for us all. So when you get back, we've got enough t'last a little while." Because seriously, Ryuhana is always in short supply </3 "I'll... think of somethin'." The phaser flops back over, and stifles a sigh, mood changing to almost tired.

Rin allows the kitten to curl up on his stomach, letting one hand to stratch over his back, "You sure?" If it came down to it, he could go back -- as painfull as the thought was to him, right now. And just take some time off when things were settled. The tone of his voice went back to normal, maybe a bit on the softer side, "You can always call~, even at this hour," he chuckled, it isn't a big deal, what with his days being hardly tiring, and considering the nature of his mutation, "And I'll share the sanity I have gained over here."

Niou grins. He knows he can always call; it's why he did -- not just to be a pain the ass <3 (Though there was that, too.) "I wonder if I ought'a send you what I've got left, so you can get me some interest on it," he chuckles. Even if he kind of hates the heat, where Rin's at doesn't seem like half a bad place at the moment. But he couldn't keep an eye on Ryoma from there.

"Working with something still being there is certainly easier than working from the scratch," like it is in his case, though just one day here, on the beach, helped with his mental state already. And he was only getting better with each one. Funny, how such a simple thing like being where he grew up, even if he couldn't visit his family, is enough to make him back into who he is. "You're welcome to come here," the kitten stretches on his stomach, scratching him a little, "You can take Ryoma too~." Though Ryoma has classes, and probably can't leave even for a week anyway. "There's enough of space for us all~."

This time Niou does sigh, and there's nothing subdubed about it. "Wouldn't be able to get him outta Yuuta's lap, these days," he says. It's not bitter -- he's not really bitter, so much as just really badly inconvenienced. His Ryoma's not dead, after all. Yet, anyway. (Because shit happens when fate likes your teddycat too much.) "Dunno, everythin's kinda borin' without the black haired freaks around." Meaning Ryoma and Ryoga, but Rin would know. "Even if space sounds like a godsend..."

"Yuuta? Fuji Yuuta?" Rin doesn't bother covering his surprise, "Why would Ryoma ..." He pauses, dumbstruck, "What the hell happened over there?" If his mind wasn't currently set on this matter, Rin would agree without doubt that it was always boring without the Echizen brothers around. But as it is, his mind focuses on the other subject, which is just... startling, to say at the least. "I never noticed them to be even friends to begin with..."

Oops, let cat outta the bag with that one. Niou's not sorry, and feels like talking anyway. "Not in our universe, they aren't." He backs up a bit, with a pause. "Them talismans'n shit that Junior was hangin' in the common room? Turns out they were for a good reason. Teddycat'n him got possessed by the dead kids... versions... from the other side." A clarification: "Where Eidolon'n them went, when the astral thing happened." It's the least amount of words he can sum it up in.

"Oh that... but," Rin pauses, trying to put the pieces together and understand. He knows some people had some weirdass memories from the other world, but... this whole thing now is pushing it. "Wow. That sucks. A whole lot." He's blunt and still somewhat speechless, one eyebrow raising.

"No shit </3" This time Niou's laughter is flat sardonic. Ryoma and Yuuta haven't been out of their apartment much, and that's the reason for it. "We're gonna get them back, though. 's just kinda a matter of when." He doesn't mention the alchemist, or the bodies. That's just extrenuous detail that not even Niou thinks he needs to know, sometimes.

"Hnn, I won't ask for details, but I do hope you'll succeed," Rin has no idea if he'd be able to deal with this. And now he sees just why Niou's as bad as he is, perfectly understandable. Perhaps that plan to go somewhere for Echizen's birthdays will have to be planned properly. And not left to be just an idea, a suggestion.

"We're gonna succeed, or I'mma go beg/borrow/steal mutants abilities all the way up to fuckin' Xavier's front door," Niou laughs. He doesn't really mean it, except for how yeah... he really, really does. Like hell he'll let this bastard of a Fuji Yuuta keep them bodies, no matter what the kid says. "You're gonna be translatin' for me, Princess, if it comes t'that <3" He winks, inaudibly. "Just so you know~"

"With pleasure, Jester~ san," if it comes down to that, it'd be double advantage for him, since it'd allow him to see Ryoga again pretty quickly. Mm, certainly good. But then, he'd rather not have this happen after all, if only for Niou's sake -- God only knows how irritating and stressful it all could be. "But it'd be better if a trip to Xavier wasn't necessary~, huh?"

"Yeah, yeah..." Niou laughs. "'cause then we'd be broke." Niou already is broke, spendthrift that he is half the time, and while Ryuhana might pay well enough for trips to Okinawa for 'responsible' guys like Rin, it's still not half good enough to get to the US. He curls up on his side, after a small pause. "...you ought'a be sleepin', Princess?"

"Nah~," Rin answers, smiling, in fact, he's quite awake now and probably won't sleep in a while again. "I'm good. One night of little sleep won't do me any bad~."

Niou grins, not half feeling like a girl. "Awesome." 'Cause he isn't going to sleep either, and doesn't feel like hanging up the phone, tonight.

Just as well the 'family's all on the same service provider <3 All the better for savin' sanity with, and all that.
