Summary: Tori decides he needs a serious nap, gets picked up by Kite and taken to his apartment. It's a cute log. ^^
Hmm- he was so sleepy. Maybe just stopping and taking a short little nap wouldn't be too bad. It was a cool enough afternoon and if he picked a quiet enough spot, then even if he had another horrible nightmare, he wouldn't be worrying anyone back at Oshitari-san's home. Besides, it sounded as those both of the glasses-wearing man's boyfriends had their sights set on plucking Ryou, and he honestly didn't want to deal with that mess right now. Ryou would be able to take care of himself, even if he was probably dead to the world in his own dreams about now.
Deciding at last, the tall mutant picked out a bench near enough to the bus stop to get back home after a little sleep. He quietly settled on it, letting his head roll back and eyes slip shut. In no time, he was fast asleep.
Kite was simply walking on his way home from work and breakfast when he noticed a familiar face taking a nap on a bench. The sight simply made Kite chuckle and shake his head. First of all, that was no place to take a nap and second, it was kind of dangerous to fall asleep out here where someone could rob him or worse. With a heavy sigh, the older man bent down, laid both hands gently on Ohtori's shoulders and shook the boy lightly to see if he'd wake up.
He was being touched...but was it some odd part of the dream he'd overlooked? Or was he really being shaken? He didn't want to release a potentially harmful shock, not only could he harm someone, but he would give away the fact he was a mutant on top of it. So he frowned and hunched up, eyes squeezed tightly shut as he began his battle to stay asleep.
Sighing, Kite shook his head before leaning down close to his ear and speaking loud enough for anyone to hear him. "Ohtori, if you don't get up, I'm going to pick you up and carry you to my apartment." He smirked to himself, giving Ohtori a moment to respond before scooping the boy up into his arms and beginning to walk toward his place.
The slight rocking and bobbing he felt was enough to eventually stir him into consciousness again. Choutarou opened his eyes just slightly, allowing only a blurred slit of his surroundings to be seen. This looked too familiar like this, he knew it. It was a precise copy of his dream. His heart began to race as he forced his rampaging imagination to silence itself. He had nothing to do with Kite's past, and he had only met Kite for the first time weeks ago.
Kite just continued to carry Ohtori back to his apartment though he noticed the boy had stirred a little. "You're alright. I'm taking you somewhere better to sleep. Somewhere safer for you and everyone else." He smiled down at the sleeping boy in his arms as he was now approaching the elevator to his building.
He uttered a small unfamiliar word in his sleep a moment after the elevator doors closed. "Shirou..." And then turned his face to rest his forehead and nose against Kite's warm chest and continue his much needed nap.
Hearing the shortened version of his name escape Ohtori's lips made Kite's heart stop a moment. Ohtori remembered him but only when he was asleep. It hurt knowing that this boy knew him and didn't all at the same time. After the elevator finally opened, he walked to his apartment door, holding the silver haired boy close to him carefully before unlocking the door and carrying him into the apartment. Oishi seemed to be out again. He sighed as he then carefully walked into his bedroom and gently set Ohtori on the bed.
"Don't lemme go...." He curled closer to the warmth, refusing to venture from the veil of sleep willingly. He was safe there, at least for the moment. That mattered.
Kite sighed softly, smiling as he crawled into bed with the boy. "Shh, it's alright. I won't let anything hurt you. You're safe." He spoke close to Ohtori's ear as he pulled the boy into a loving and warm embrace, petting his soft silver locks lovingly.
There was something nagging him in the back of his mind, telling him cuddling right now was wrong, but it was just so warm and comforting. Curling into a tighter ball, he allowed Kite to scoot against him. "Thanks 'Shirou...."
Hearing his name again just made his heart race in excitement and ache with pain all at once. Knowing that this wasn't his lover deep down made him want to cry. It hurt and helped all at once. All he could do was lie there holding Ohtori close to him, nuzzling against the boy's face, wishing to whatever divine being that would or could hear him would never let this moment end.
The tall mutant slept a short while longer before lazily opening his eyes and smiling the moment he recalled where he was. "You know- it's a good thing you're not some kinda kidnapper...or I'd be an easy target."
Kite smiled warmly at the boy in his arms. "You know if you ever need somewhere safe to crash, you can come here. Oishi will let you in even if I'm not here." He continued to smile as he gently, lovingly stroked Ohtori's cheek with his thumb.
"Thanks. I know Oishi-kun-" though he was still uncertain of how he stood with the other, after that whole mess with Kaidoh. He closed his eyes again and yawned lazily. It should have felt wrong to wake up cuddled against someone other than Ryou, and even now as his cheek was being traced with a thumb.
"Anytime. Did you sleep well?" He smiled softly as he continued lovingly petting the boy's cheek. His heart ached to kiss him, to love him without the worry of this boy being the lover of someone else. Oh how he wished this boy were his Chou.
"Yeah- just wanted to take a short nap. The bench looked comfy enough." He really didn't mind napping outside, the warm sun felt very good on his skin, and the gentle air seemed to ruffle his hair just right. "I'm sorry for troubling you too." He had been doing that more and more.
"It's no trouble at all. Honestly, think of this place as a home away from home. You're always welcome here." He smiled a little brighter, his eyes looking into the boy's lovingly, longingly, wishing he could do more.
"Okay- I'd offer the same if I could...but-" He knew inviting a stranger into the compound wouldn't fly, and honestly, it would just lead to trouble in the end. "I'll just have to find another way to make it up to you."
Kite just smiled and kissed the boy's forehead lovingly. "It's alright. You don't have to do anything for me. I'm just happy knowing you'll be safe." He sighed softly as he closed his eyes, burying his face in the crook of the boy's neck a moment. "I've missed being able to just be like this with someone." He sighed again as he tightened his hold on Ohtori a little. "I'm sorry. I know you're involved with someone else but please... just let me stay like this a moment." His heart ached so much right now, he didn't want to let go.
He could have sworn he just suffered a mild heart attack as Kite pressed his lips onto his forehead, forcing himself to swallow, he resisted the urge to pull away. He knew his friend needed a good friend, especially after losing his boyfriend. In spite of his racing heart and nervous flush to his cheeks, he gently petted Kite's back and smiled a little. "I- it's alright. You can stay there a while." As long as that was all the further it went, he reminded himself, thinking about how this would probably cause guilt later when he went home to his winged lover.
"Thank you." He whispered as he soon began drifting off to sleep. The poor guy hadn't slept well in a long time. It had been only a month or more since his Ohtori died in his arms. He missed the boy so much. The memories of his lover flooded his mind as he laid there nuzzled against Ohtori's neck, his shut eyes filling with tears as he began to whimper softly in his sleep.
The moment Kite fell asleep, Ohtori sighed and pet his hair, wondering what to do. Kite was obviously in about as bad of shape as he was, so he should return his friend's favour. "Shh- It's okay. I'll stay here and you can sleep. He carefully reached down to his cellphone and texted a simple message to Ryou telling him that he was fine, but had an upset friend that needed company for a while at least. Closing the phone, he smiled and curled back up, letting his eyes close, even if he wasn't going to go back to sleep and risk his nightmares upsetting his friend more. "Goodnight, Kite."
After an hour had past, Kite awoke in warm loving arms, smiling softly. "Hey." He spoke softly as he kissed Ohtori's cheek, still half asleep. "Thank you. That's the most sleep I've had in weeks." He nuzzled the boy closely a moment before sighing and pulling away a little just to smile softly at the boy.
"Glad I could help...we can uhm- nap again soon if you want. It was pretty comfortable." He glanced at his phone and sighed to himself, recalling the concern his disappearance would probably cause through out the house. "I better get going. You gonna be ok?"
Kite smiled and nodded. "I'll be alright. Thank you." He then kissed Ohtori's forehead softly before pulling away, sitting up, and stretching. "I'd like that. It's the best sleep either of us have had. Remember, you're welcome anytime. Be careful on your way home hm?" He smirked as he lead the boy to the front door. "See you later."
"No impromptu naps on the way. I'll talk to you again soon, okay?" He hugged the older man before turning and exiting, sure he could probably be home before Ryou ruffled up too much.
