Summary: Kite and Ohtori spend Ohtori's last moments together in AU.
Dated: Last night- I think.


Kite: *had just gotten off the phone with Inui, running as fast as he could down several blocks until he finally found Tori* CHOU! *his eyes were wide from the shock, runs over to Tori's side, frantic* Chou. Come on stay with me here. I'm going to get you some help. *takes off his button up and ties it tightly around his lover's torso to try and stop the bleeding*

Ohtori: *waiting on a dark porch of an abandonned store, out of sight and watching the world keep moving. He's nagged by concern that in spite of this all, the world is still going to end, and he had wasted his last days that could have been spent with Kite* ...damn- should have taken up smoking. *he sighs and rests his forehead on the cool cement, noting his shirt sticking to his torso uncomfortably- the pain is more of an ache right now anyway, he hears a voice and blinks up, seeing Kite* Hi...*Kite was the last person he ever wanted to see him like that*

Kite: *scoffs and shakes his head before kissing Tori softly after carefully picking him up and beginning to make his way toward the hospital* Hi yourself. Come on. Let's get you looked after hm? *tries to smile but his eyes give away how worried he really is*

Ohtori: *attempts a weak struggle, splattering more dark red blood around* Put me down...I can't go to a doctor. Those generators- that was my fault.

Kite: I'm not going to let you die if there is any possible chance of saving you Choutarou. *kisses Tori softly, whispers, leaning his forehead against Tori's* I love you too damn much and I don't want to lose you. *eyes pleading with his lover*

Ohtori: *knows enough about this sort of thing to offer a faint smile* Even if you get me there, they won't be able to do much...I've probably been bleeding out a good two hours. *leans against him tiredly* Love you too.

Kite: You never know Chou. There's always a possibility for a miracle here. *he wanted to believe that but knew better deep down, too stuborn to give up, denial still so strong right now*

Ohtori: *just rests against him, hand fisting around the chest of his wife-beater shirt* You know I don't believe in those.

Kite: Neither do I but now seems like a pretty good time to start don't you think? *walks as fast as he can carrying Tori, feeling the blood beginning to soak through the button up and into the wife-beater*

Ohtori: *groans and shakes his head, trying to stay awake* This isn't going to do any good. *does not want to spend any time running to a hospital just to die there*

Kite: *sighs solemnly* Then what would you have me do Chou? *looks at his lover with hurt eyes, voice very soft* What would you have me do?

Ohtori: I-I don't know. *shivers a little and looks at him, hating seeing any pain in Kite's eyes* Not this. I didn't even want you to have to see this, Eishirou. I-I'm sorry.

Kite: *swallows hard and shakes his head* I'm only sorry I can't do more for you. That I can't save you. If only I had known about your mission sooner and what it entaled. I could have protected you.

Ohtori: *buries his face in Kite's stomach* No such thing as a safe mission. Guess Kitty-cat was wrong- this mission was a waste of time for me.

Kite: *says nothing for a moment before ducking somewhere out of sight with his lover, holding him close as he knew Tori was dying and the hospital was too far away, finds an empty building and makes his way to the roof, setting his lover down carefully before sitting down next to him, his arms around the boy, his head leaning on his lover's, tears threatening to fall from his eyes as he just held him lovingly, petting Tori's hair*

Ohtori: *closes his eyes and smiles a little bit.* Thank you- so much. I'm sorry. *curls against him, ignoring the pain and the coldness, for at least now he can enjoy himself* I- I'm so glad I met you.

Kite: *swallows hard and nods* Me too. You did more for me than you realize Chou. You allowed me to love you and you loved me in return. I couldn't have been happier if I had tried.

Ohtori: *nods and leans in to kiss him softly on the cheek, totally cold, and falls against him- finally giving in to his injuries*

Kite: *shuts his eyes and holds Tori's limp body so tight, tears falling from his eyes as he continues talking a moment* You know something Chou... I'm glad Inui called me and told me where to find you. Losing you hurts just as much if I hadn't been here for you... Worse I think... *closes his eyes and sniffles* You would have died alone and that thought hurts more than having you die here in my arms... *swallows hard again* I'll see you again though. I'll find you again in another life. I swear it. *bites his lower lip to hold back his tears a little longer before continuing, holding Tori tighter* I love you so much Ohtori Choutarou...*kisses the top of his lover's head as he can't hold back anymore, sobbing quietly, whispers* Goodbye...*continues crying*
