Summary: After helping Fuji recover Taki (log coming!), Ryoma is TIRED (he hasn't been having a good day :D;;). He decides he can't make it all the way up to his room, so he decides to crash in Yuuta's instead.

Once they were finally back from Fuji's little... rescue operation, the full weight of how tired he was seemed to crash down all at once. Ryoma had managed to make it back to the dorms without looking too helpless, but as soon as he made it into the building it was clear he wasn't going to be able to make it up two flights of stairs... And so Ryoma found himself leaning on the doorframe outside Yuuta's room, knocking clumsily and hoping the other wasn't asleep.

Luckily for Ryoma, Yuuta wasn't asleep as he was busy trying to figure out what two characters would make a decent family name for him and his brother-- but he was still surprised at the random knock on his door. Yuuta stood and headed straight for the door, wondering who it could be... it was pretty late for a school night. He opened the door, and he blinked at the sight of Ryoma... who was looking pretty damn disheveled at the moment. "...Uh, hi? Damn, what happened to you?"

Ryoma just sighed - "More'n I was planning tonight," he replied, rubbing at one temple with the heel of his hand. "Got called out f'r a... rescue operation, I guess." He blinked tiredly, sliding down the doorframe a little. "I... don't think I c'n make it upstairs." Unsaid was the part of the sentence where he asked if he could crash here - just for a little while, just until he could climb the stairs...

Yuuta's eyes widened when the other boy was slumping downward. "...Crap. Surprised you even made it here." He caught Ryoma in his arms, making a face at the weight that was bearing down on him, and he shifted Ryoma's arm to rest over his shoulder. "C'mon, you're not gonna crash out here." And he dragged the other mutant inside, kicking the door closed behind him. It was at a time like this that Yuuta wished he had a couch lying around but his bed would have to make do.

Ryoma blinked - he hadn't realized he was slumping until he was already leaning more than half of his weight on Yuuta. "Fuck - sorry -" He managed to get his feet underneath him again as Yuuta started steering him towards the bed; he wanted to stand up on his own and walk there, but suddenly all the strength had left his limbs. This was stupid - he hadn't done any more or less than he usually did in a training session - except, the back of his mind argued back, he'd already had training today, not to mention that Godawful headache he'd gotten when his nose had decided to leak blood in his sleep. "M'fine, just tired s'all."

"You sure as hell look more than tired. What the hell? Rescue mission?" Yuuta demanded as he helped Ryoma to the bed, shifting him so he was lying on the covers. He frowned, brow furrowing slightly as he brushed Ryoma's hair away from his eyes.

Ryoma sighed, mostly with relief when he hit the soft surface of the mattress. He closed his eyes, though he opened them a moment later or he'd fall asleep before he even answered Yuuta's questions. "Your brother. He was worried about Taki - guess he hadn't heard from him in a coupla days. Wanted me t'find him... then he wanted me t'come with to get him back." He left out the fact that they'd been faced with a hazy Taki and two apparent captors who'd been awfully... strange, themselves.

"Taki was missing?" That was news to him, and he frowned at that as well. "Well, you're back now, so I'm guessing you found him. Shit... you look like Hell," he said, brushing his hand over Ryoma's forehead. "Need anything? Water?"

"Yeah, he was missing - an' we got him back." Ryoma felt a small smile work its way to the surface despite the headache - Yuuta's hand was warm and it felt really nice. He shook his head a little, trying to prop himself up on his elbows so he didn't look so... much like shit, he guessed. "Nah, s'fine... Was just a bad day already. I don't usually use Dad's powers so much." Somehow they always took more out of him than anyone else's. "I c'n head upstairs in a few - I just need a breather. You prolly got stuff t'do... or, y'know, y'might want your bed."

Yuuta gave him a look, then pushed Ryoma back down onto the bed. "Yer staying here. And I wasn't doing much, so it's okay." He then smirked at the other mutant. "I doubt you'd actually make it all the way up there anyway."

Ryoma somehow didn't feel like protesting much as he was shoved back down against the mattress. It was awfully soft... "Well not right now... I meant in a while," he protested, but Yuuta didn't seem to be listening, exactly. He had to admit the other probably had a point. "Heh... guess that's what you get f'r bein' RA." Though, granted, Yuuta's being RA had nothing to do with Ryoma's choice of places to crash, and he was pretty sure Yuuta knew it as well as he did.

"Seriously. I get to take all the drunks in and anyone else who can't get up the stairs," he joked with a small smile. He let his hand slide down to cup Ryoma's cheek lightly, thumb brushing over his face. "Sensei's running you ragged, but at least you had enough in you to finish that mission, huh? Stupid... you and aniki should've taken me along."

Ryoma tilted his face into the touch... but frowned at the sheer... well, logic in that statement. "... We prolly shoulda. Or, y'know, taken someone. Didn't think about it... an' it didn't seem like your brother did either." He paused - it was, in a way, understandable. Ryoma wasn't stupid. He could tell Fuji had been worried. And besides - taking Ryoma was pretty much like taking half the school. He had to break into a wry grin at that - "Your brother's not that stupid, though. Even f'we don't... exactly get along." Though he had (supposedly?) promised to stop saying shit about Ryoma... Except... "You don't think he's right... d'you?"

Yuuta blinked. "Right about what?"

Ryoma glanced at Yuuta's wrist, feeling stupid for asking, but it had been bothering him. "About all that shit he's sayin' about me." It wasn't like the whole school didn't know Ryoma was responsible for ruining the lives of half his family and killing the other fourth.

Yuuta paused, thinking for a moment before wrenching the covers from under Ryoma. He then slipped into the bed with the other mutant and pulled up the covers. "I like you," Yuuta said, lying on his side and facing Ryoma. "And aniki's just being overprotective. I think he'd say shit about anyone if they got too close to me."

Ryoma was silent a moment, letting that sink in. He had to admit, it was more than a little bit of a relief - there had been a not-so-small part of himself that had thought Fuji might be right. But the rest of him knew he wasn't - or at least, not if Ryoma didn't let him be right. And he wasn't going to mess this up. "Well... s'good t'know he's not just givin' me any special treatment," he murmured; but now that Yuuta was under the covers with him, it was warm - pleasantly so, he was already so tired, and he was having trouble keeping his eyes open. "Hey... I like you too," he insisted, blinking to stay awake for just a moment longer.

Yuuta smiled, curling his arms around Ryoma to keep him warm. "Yeah? What a coincidence," he murmured, lifting a hand to Ryoma's face and brushing his fingertips over his eyes. "Don't worry about him or what he says."

"Wasn't... worried." Which, of course, was a complete lie, but Ryoma'd sacrificed enough composure for one night. It was so nice and warm right here; he slipped one arm beneath Yuuta's and around the other's waist, fingers curling in his shirt, but he was quickly losing the fight to stay awake. "Didn't finish my homework," Ryoma murmured, but that was the farthest thing from his mind right now. Being in Yuuta's arms made whatever points he'd get off tomorrow more than worth it, as sleep came directly on the heels of that very thought.

Yuuta remained silent, watching the other mutant sleep in his arms. "'Night," he murmured as he smiled fondly at Ryoma, leaning in to kiss his cheek lightly-- he knew he was being mushy and overly affectionate, but it was okay if only Ryoma knew, for now.
