Summary: Yagyuu and Inui meet at the library to discuss a few things... and only two things are really confirmed: 1) Yagyuu is crazy and 2) he intends to stay on this side.
Inui: *sitting at the steps of the public library, busy fiddling with his counterpart's Sidekick phone. He occasionally looks up to glance around for Yagyuu, wondering when he will arrive.*
Yag: *arrives shortly; he had allowed himself some time to get his bearings, but ... the city's the same. He spots Inui on the library steps and approaches.* You wanted to see me?
Inui: *glances up again when he hears Yagyuu's voice, and he gives him a once-over-- he doesn't seem any different* Indeed, I did. *he stands, pocketing the phone* Shall we talk somewhere more private? *indicates the library*
Yag: Yes, let's. *follows him inside*
Inui: *had taken the time to reserve a studyroom. He goes inside and shuts the door after them, and he indicates a chair for Yagyuu to sit in. He moves to sit across from the other mutant and he folds his hands in front of him, pausing before speaking.* Are you feeling well, Yagyuu-kun?
Yag: *seats himself as well* I am ... *lets his eyes wander around the room, unfocusing, then looks at Inui more directly* What is your business with me?
Inui: *watches Yagyuu carefully, gaze hidden behind his glasses. He ponders how to go about this, but decides to be straight-forward about it.* I've noticed you've been acting strangely.
Yag: Perhaps I have.
Inui: Is there an explaination?
Yag: Likely not.
Inui: *corrects him* Not that you know of.
Yag: One that you know of?
Inui: *amends again* Not that we know of. But I have my suspicions. *looks at him pointedly, repeating the question he asked before* Yagyuu-kun, do you know anything more about the phenomenon that is affecting this nation?
Yag: Which one?
Inui: There's more than one?
Yag: There's one at all?
Inui: The one affecting telepathic mutants.
Yag: I hadn't heard.
Inui: *watches him with a level gaze* But you've read my findings.
Yag: If it's true.
Inui: So you have heard.
Yag: I do hear.
Inui: Do you understand?
Yag: Which part?
Inui: My question.
Yag: About the phenomenon. Yes.
Inui: Is your answer a negative?
Yag: No.
Inui: Would you please explain?
Yag: That I do understand?
Inui: Why your answer is an affirmative.
Yag: As you said, I read your work.
Inui: Do you know more about the phenomenon than I do? *pauses* Pardon. What else about the phenomenon do you know, other than what I have found.
Yag: Nothing at all.
Inui: *lips press together into a line, slightly frustrated* As I've said, you're acting strangely.
Yag: Go on.
Inui: And you don't seem to be cooperating.
Yag: ... And?
Inui: Why is that?
Yag: You want me to say your findings are influencing my behaviour.
Inui: Are they?
Yag: I can't say.
Inui: Would anything else be influencing your behavior?
Yag: Not that I know of.
Inui: *sighs a bit* So it's a possibility. *looks Yagyuu in the eye* Do you still know what our objective is?
Yag: I know my objective.
Inui: Which is?
Yag: Classified.
Inui: Perhaps we could talk about that trade.
Yag: Go on.
Inui: But first, I'm having trouble understanding what it is you want. The key to the other side?
Yag: Mmm. It's what he wants.
Inui: *curious about it but decides to stay on topic* Then what is it that you want?
Yag: I intend to stay.
Inui: Stay in this world?
Yag: Stay here.
Inui: *sighs, resting his chin lightly on top of his hand* In this library?
Yag: *harder glare, as though he's an idiot* No.
Inui: *tiny smile, knowing he's being too tedious* Please be more specific.
Yag: This side.
Inui: Thank you. *straightens again* Will you still be helping the rest of us?
Yag: What do you need?
Inui: Relevant ideas and information on how to return to the other side.
Yag: I have no information.
Inui: The gathering of relevant information.
Yag: How would you like me to do this?
Inui: *frowns slightly* Keep your eyes and ears open for us.
Yag: That's all?
Inui: For now. *pauses* If something should come up, would you come to our aid?
Yag: I make no guarantees, but for the moment, yes.
Inui: *dips his head* Thank you. I appreciate your continuing aid.
Yag: Is that all?
Inui: *glances up, pausing again, perhaps hesitating* Yes. Please keep in touch.
Yag: Very well. I will. Thank you.
