Date: Backdated to January 14th; the day Momo was let off his grounding
Rating: G
Summary: Momo's finally ungrounded and goes to the cafeteria to hopefully be able to catch up with one of his friends. Eiji... rants - a lot. XD;

Once Ryoma left Momo's bedroom, Momo realized one very important fact - he was finally ungrounded. Granted, he was probably going to still have at least an eye put on him from the guards just in case with a stroke of bad luck on their side he ran away, but at least he was able to see people... for the first time in a week. Although it sucked to be stuck in his bedroom with only the guard occasionally stepping inside the room to make sure he wasn't doing anything funny, he was happy; it was for a good cause. If it meant not getting Ryoma and Niou in trouble for their small adventure...

First stop was the cafeteria - he hadn't eaten lunch, yet, despite it being Sunday afternoon, and he hoped that there were still some people who hadn't, either - or else, he'd have to simply go without food until that night, and judging by his stomach, Momo wasn't prepared to do that. So, he found himself starting on a light jog down the hall from his room. There weren't any people in sight, which meant Momo would be lucky - hopefully.

Eiji was still in the cafeteria. He'd had a late lunch, because he'd been talking to Tezuka-senpai. Tezuka-senpai was going to help him work on a training schedule, too, because Eiji wanted to make sure even without powers he wasn't going to be a helpless kitty ever again. Some senpai were great, and had great advice.

Thinking of senpai made Eiji think of Oishi, and he scowled, stabbing at the strawberry milk carton with his straw roughly. They had Oishi, dammit. He just knew they did. Natsuki-chan was worried sick, and even if Eiji was angry at Oishi, Oishi was too responsible to just disappear. Stupid Oishi, he was too careless, and now Eiji was worrying over stupid Oishi who was too stupid to just hide from the stupid humans. Stupid everything.

Eiji kicked the chair in front of him, not too hard (he didn't want to hurt himself), but enough to make a noise. He scowled at the strawberry milk. Why couldn't they serve strawberry pudding? Or any kind of dessert? They were just being mean and unkind! Stupid humans. Then he saw Momo enter the room.

"Hoi, Momo-chan!" Eiji said, hopping out of his chair and waving. "You're not grounded anymore! Come sit with me, nya!"

Grabbing his serving of food before turning his eyes into the direction he thought Eiji's voice was coming from, Momo grinned widely and made his way over to his friend, plopping down beside him and giving a, "hey!" It was a relief to see another familiar smile that wasn't the stony-faced, grumpy guard, and there were still people in the room... which meant he still had a chance at getting lunch, thank god. "Been a while, huh? It's nice to not be grounded anymore."

Momo still felt bad for lying blatantly to Eiji when the cat boy had asked why he was grounded, but he hadn't had a choice. It was simply too risky to expose the truth over the journals when they were being screened so heavily, and even though Momo didn't care if he got in trouble, he didn't want to drag his friends into it, too. They had been so happy... "Have I missed anythin' important?" Sweeping his eyes around the room, Momo opened his own milk carton and took a gratuitous sip... ah, how he had missed the taste of delicious, healthy, plain white milk.

"Hoi," Eiji said, happy that he was invited to vent, and launched immediately into a story of the past week's events. Momo-chan would listen, and Momo-chan would agree with him that humans were stupid! "... so Tomo-chan was injured in that raid ... she told me Ryoma was there ... Oishi is stupid, he just came into my room and acted stupid and I yelled at him ... he's gone, nya, and I think they took him ... Natsuki-chan's hair got cut ... they're USING Ryoma, nya, that's BAD, hoi! ... and they grounded you for stupid things ... it's FOOD, nya, it's not like you're doing anything wrong, but ... stupid rules, stupid COLLARS (*a yank to emphasize*), stupid robots ... "

Momo shushed him when he got too loud, and Eiji gave some guard a dirty look especially when he got to Ryoma's part, but the catboy managed to get most of the story across in an aggrieved (but soft) whisper. He ended with, "It's such a stupid place, and this is a stupid school, and they're all STUPID, nya!" and a huff as Eiji's tail thwacked the chair beside him to emphasize the point.

Nodding at the appropriate parts, and shushing Eiji in others, Momo listened. He hadn't known about Oishi being taken away... he had heard about Tomoka, and of course he knew about Ryoma (just the thought made Momo's stomach boil with anger; something he had tried to keep under control during his grounding, but had still resulted in a couple fist marks in his wall from the punches when he couldn't punch anything safer and still feel better). It wasn't as much of a surprise to hear about Oishi's little sister having her hair cut if that was the source of her powers, and... wait, Ryoma was there when Tomoka was injured?

His stomach turned. Momo simply nodded again, taking another drink of his milk, and said, "I agree - it's almost like a jail here, huh?" Momo made sure to keep his voice low; there would be no point for them to get punished for talking ill too loudly of the guards. "I'm sure we'll get outta here soon, though... it can't go on forever." At least, that's what he was hoping. It was the same thought he had when he saw the full extent of the damage on Ryoma's arm, and that was at least a week and a half ago. They were due for some sort of happiness sometime.

"It had better end, nya," Eiji said, still frustrated, sucking hard on his straw for some soothing strawberry milk. At least they still had strawberry milk. If they took his strawberry milk away, sentinels or no sentinels Eiji was going to Cause Trouble with a capital T. "They're stupid stupid mean BAD humans who deserve to DIE." It was said in an undertone, but Eiji was angry and meant it.

"There's no point in being _good_, Momo," Eiji said, a scowl on his kitty face. His tail waved about agitatedly. "Ryoma was good, Tomo-chan was good, Natsuki's such a sweet girl, and no one would EVER accuse Oishi of being bad. Stupid, and stubborn and BLIND Oishi, but not bad." His scowl deepened, and he finished his milk, then scowled again because there was no dessert to follow it. "They put COLLARS on us, Momo, and what have we ever done? Why don't they go out and collar all those BAD humans? We didn't do anything wrong, we never have!"

Placing a hand on Eiji's shoulder to try to calm him down, Momo nodded. He knew what Eiji was talking about - it was frustrating for everyone, and they both did share much of the same opinion. Momo wasn't as... hateful in his thoughts toward their captors and the people in the world Eiji deemed as "bad," but he could at least understand what the cat boy was coming from. And they could definitely agree on one solid thing - none of them had done anything wrong enough to warrant... this.

"If we try to rebel blindly, it'll only end up worse for us," Momo didn't want to annoy Eiji... but it had been something he had been thinking about a lot. Being rash and simply jumping into an attack - or, as Eiji worded it, being good - wouldn't be successful in the long run, and who knows what would happen if they were completely stopped in the middle of their attempt? "I don't understand these collars... but the only thing I can think of is that maybe.. they're scared of us." It made sense. They were "abnormal" - animals compared to simple civilians who didn't possess cat-like qualities and body parts, or super strength that could rival any proclaimed "strong" normal human beings.

"They're _stupid_," Eiji repeated, as if that finished the argument. He took a deep breath and told himself to stop shouting. Tezuka-senpai had told him he needed to stop being so excitable if he wanted to control his powers, and it was _hard_, but Eiji would do it.

He was going to get Oishi back, and then Oishi would understand that the humans were bad. And then ... they'd do something. Eiji didn't know what, but they would do something. Anything. Eiji was tired of being good.

"Yeah, I know, nya," Eiji muttered. "Stupid collars, and even without the collars, those stupid ROBOTS. They scare me, nya, peeking into my window all the time. I can't even close the curtains, and I want to look outside. They shouldn't be poking their stupid robot noses into my window, hoi!" He stuck out his tongue at a guard's back, but in general Eiji had settled down somewhat from earlier.

With a groan, Eiji slumped onto the table. "I want it all to go away, nya."

Momo could understand entirely what Eiji wanted - because it was something that Momo desperately wanted himself. However, ho matter how much they wished it, it wasn’t going to truly go away until everyone worked together to make it go away - and who knew how soon that was actually going to come. For now, all they could really do was just suck it up and live with it until someone came up with a better idea.

...And Momo thought the robots were actually kind of cool if you ignored the fact they were there to make sure all of them were behaving themselves - even if everyone else disagreed with him, the point still stood that they looked... well, cool. The collars had to go, though. It was itchy, and it was almost too tight; Momo had a constant rash there.

Eiji had flopped, though. Momo watched the catboy with a bit of a bemused look before smiling, and pulling his friend up to sit properly. "Won't do ya any good to flop there, silly. You still have a lunch to eat." He poked at Eiji's milk carton a bit with his hand.

"Finished, nya," Eiji said. It reminded him again of the injustice of not getting any dessert.

Eiji felt tired, and he packed his lunch quietly. "Ne, Momo, I'm going back to my room."

Was it somethin' I said...? Eiji seemed to be leaving rather... quickly, even if he had really finished. `Alright then... I guess I'll catch up with you later?` It was sort of disappointing, really - Momo wanted to talk to his friend some more to make up for a week of not having any human contact.

It wasn't Momo's fault at all. Eiji was just feeling sad and depressed and angry, and it wasn't right to give that sort of feeling to Momo, even if he wasn't transmitting it. Momo deserved some happiness right now, since he'd just gotten out of a week's worth of punishment.

So Eiji grinned, and made a V-sign. "Hoi, I have a lot of homework, nya, and it's all due tomorrow!"

Momo wasn't quite sure he believed the fact that Eiji had a lot of homework that was all due the next day, but in any case, he just nodded his head, turning to pick at an onigiri; suddenly, he wasn't all that hungry anymore. "Good luck on your homework, then; I'll catch you later?" Even if Eiji hadn't meant to, Momo felt himself picking up a bit on his friend's mood, though he tried to at least manage a smile - maybe he'd take the same route and go back to his room himself and just rest... even if that's all that he had been doing lately.

"Hoi, later," Eiji said, and retreated to his room to sulk there without making anyone else sad.
