Date: Forward-dated to VERY late Sunday night/VERY early Monday morning. Yup, it's the log alluded HERE.
Rating: PG-13 for kissing and light groping.
Summary: Eiji was just *too* happy to have his roomate back earlier...

He'd heard something. Eiji cracked open one eye, looking around. There was a lump in Oishi's bed--it looked like someone sleeping. Oishi wasn't supposed to be back until Monday, so whoever it was in his room on Oishi's bed was intruding! Eiji would teach that intruder a lesson. How dare the--

--then Eiji realised, as his sleepy brain finally caught up with his eyes and ears, that _was_ Oishi in Oishi's bed.

"Nya!" Happily, Eiji abandoned his own bed, and glomped the still-sleeping Oishi. His roommate was back, and early, too! Eiji had missed Oishi, and not because his tooth hurt, but because when Oishi wasn't around, Eiji just didn't feel quite right, like some part of him had gone missing. But now Oishi was back, and life was good. Curling up catlike around Oishi, Eiji settled down to sleep again. Oishi was back, now, and Eiji was happy.

Oishi was usually a light sleeper who woke up earlier than his roommate, but this particular time, he was completely exhausted. His work at medlab had brought him an unexpected popularity *and* heavy work load at school (just before he went home, two second-year girls had injured themselves *on purpose* to have an excuse to check on him); that, along with the subject of Natsuki's own mutancy surfacing and the deal with Echizen, completely sucked the energy out of him.

So, when the overjoyed Eiji glomped him, it took the older youth VERY long to react. He thought it was a too-real dream at first, and tried to get it out of his mind... but soon, the feeling of his covers being lifted and someone slipping under them and REALLY close to him did the rest of the work.

And Oishi just stared, eyes still heavy and burning, as Eiji was practically all over him.

"E... Eiji...," he murmured, still drowsy, but already feeling how the catboy was pumping happy feelings into him.

"Oishi!" Eiji answered happily, and nuzzled the other much like a kitten would nuzzle against one. "Hehe, you're back early! Gomen, I didn't mean to wake you, you can go back to sleep, nya." Cuddling closer to Oishi without really thinking about what he was doing, Eiji grinned at his roommate. He tried not to wince as the grin made his mouth ache--yikes, that pesky wisdom tooth hurt even when it was gone!

"I can't sleep after I'm woken up, don't worry... oh, you still aren't okay?" Oishi was tired, but the slightly pained flash didn't go unnoticed. He felt a little guilty for being absent when Eiji had that tooth removed, when his powers were perfect to make the catboy feel better.

"Hush, Eiji...," he whispered in the catboy's kitty ear, "don't move. It'll take just some seconds... Which side of your face hurts?"

"Here, nya," Eiji said, pointing to his right cheek. Right, Oishi had healing powers ... perfect. He tried not to move, and lay perfectly still as he curled up beside Oishi.

"Fine... relax and it'll be gone."

Oishi first placed his hands at each side of Eiji's face, to immediately close his eyes and concentrate. His digits emitted a light golden glow as he used his powers to reduce the swelling and pain, healing the small but anoying injuries inside of Eiji's mouth...

Soon, the glow went away, hopefully taking all the physical discomfort with it.

"Feeling better, Eiji?," he asked quietly, eyes open again.

Gingerly, Eiji tested the previously sore part. The swelling was gone, and ... it was healed, gaping hole and all! "Nya!" he said happily. "Thank you, Oishi!" Hugging his roommate tightly, Eiji cuddled Oishi and nuzzled the other joyfully. He was so happy! Oishi was home, his mouth wasn't hurting ... the world was perfect!

"Hehe, Oishi, thanks!" He really did owe Oishi, Eiji thought as he snuggled his roommate. Well ... hmm, sometimes people did this to thank people they really cared about, and Eiji cared about Oishi, so ... the catboy grinned happily, and then kissed Oishi on the lips.

Wait... what was happening? Not that it didn't feel good, rather the contrary, but... just some seconds ago, he was using his powers to heal Eiji as promised, and after the hug that the older boy had predicted and happily received, but now... the catboy was *kissing him*? Did he...?

Instinctively, Oishi opened his mouth to try pulling away and have a sort of clearer perspective. But Eiji pressed his lips more firmly on his'...

Oishi tasted good, and Well, when Oishi opened his mouth, Eiji thought it would be nice to see if Oishi tasted this nice inside too, and just like that, Eiji slipped his tongue into Oishi's mouth, kissing the other deeply, moving purely on instinct.

It was almost a sort of out-of-body experience for Oishi. In his 17 years of life he had never experienced such a kiss, either stolen or willingly given, and while his mind was all full of ringing alarm bells, his body just wouldn't fully obey him. Because his tongue was now softly caressing Eiji's as the catboy made it all deeper...

Uwaa ... Oishi tasted soft and sweet, not strawberry-sweet but some other sweet, and Eiji wondered what was that taste, the taste in his mind he was now calling Oishi-taste, red and pink and fluffy and sweet without being too sweet. He sighed softly as Oishi's tongue caressed his. Kissing was fun ... he'd have to do this with Oishi more often, Eiji thought as he cuddled closer and continued to kiss and be kissed.

Red pink fluff sweet.. wait, where did that come from... oh shoot, Eiji's empathy... he was projecting it on Oishi, and that was why his mind and body were practically dissociated as the kiss continued, with Eiji practically on top of an Oishi who was already short of breath...

Eventually Eiji had to break the kiss, panting--he was already short of breath. Oishi was a little breathless too, it sounded like, and Eiji grinned unsteadily, moving off the other so his roommate could catch his breath. "Gomen, Oishi, I didn't mean to squish you," he said, and he gave a wobbly grin as he curled up beside Oishi again, and slipped arms around his roommate to cuddle. "Oishi tastes nice," Eiji murmured softly with a smile.

If someone asked Oishi how did he feel right then, he would ask if his life was shoujo manga or something. Because the whole situation felt like something out of those sugary girl comics from Hana to Yume, Nakayoshi or Ribon, only that two boys were the main charas and one of them was half-cat. Oh, dear...

He touched his lips with his fingertips, still trying to catch his breath. After starting at Eiji some more, he blurted his following thoughts out:

"Eiji... do you realize... what you did...?"

"What I did?" Eiji blinked, wondering whether something was wrong with Oishi. Maybe he was too tired after all. "Kissed Oishi, nya. Doesn't Oishi know what a kiss is?"

"No, it's not that, Eiji... I fully know what a kiss is...," Oishi murmured, the distress settling and starting to grow. "I do wonder if you know what a kiss *means*, Eiji..."

Puzzled now, Eiji thought about it for a moment. "I was happy and I wanted to thank you for coming home and for healing me, nya," he said, looking confused (and feeling it). "Oishi didn't like it? I did, but I won't do it again if you don't like it,

"It's not that, Eiji...", and the healer smiled ruefully. "Kissing is nice, yes. But it also depends on who you kiss and where you kiss the person, Eiji... Kisses are all different, after all."

And Oishi still didn't know what to really make out of it. As he feared, Eiji didn't even know what the different kisses meant... if they ever had another similar situation, what would happen with them?

"I wouldn't kiss anyone else like that," Eiji said, making a face. "I kiss Kaa-san and nee-san, and tou-san, but always on the cheek." For some reason, kissing Oishi's lips had felt like the right thing to do. "Oishi's the only one I would kiss like that, nya."

Oishi really didn't know what to say. Eiji really didn't realize what his naîve words really meant... He was quite pragmatic about romantic love, due to his raising, so how out of reality Eiji was in regards of practically *everything* felt borderline disturbing to the older youth.

Specially because, had Eiji said *that* to other people, those persons would try to take advantage of him in any possible ways. And considering Oishi's own feelings for Eiji, the temptation was strong - but he respected and *loved* Eiji just too much to even considering trying.

Attempting to calm himself, the healer leaned his forehead against Eiji's. "I'm glad that you're honest about it, Eiji," he murmured, his heart still beating very fast. "But I see you don't know... what your kiss... no, all of this, have done to me. I myself am not sure if it's bad or good, either..."

That Oishi-feeling was slowly being replaced by something else. Eiji had only felt this feeling when he was small. It was the same one he'd felt when the children in the playground threw stones at him when his hat fell off and revealed kitty-ears. "It's okay, Oishi," Eiji said, putting on his brightest smile and checking inside to make sure his feelings were locked up tightly inside him and not leaking out everywhere. He wouldn't disturb Oishi if Oishi didn't want him to, even if Eiji wanted to kiss Oishi some more. Besides, it was late now, and Oishi was tired, Eiji could see it. "It's late and we have class tomorrow, and I can see Oishi is tired, so maybe we should just sleep now, nya."

Scooting out of bed quickly, Eiji leapt back into his own bed, and lay down facing the wall so Oishi couldn't see his face.

After Eiji was back to his bed, Oishi bravely tried to analyze his situation. But the conclusion he reached was too obvious. He had *really* screwed up things, no point denying it. Yes, Eiji was naîve to an incredible point (and those who didn't know him would say "he's dumb as a post"), but Oishi had been incredibly selfish as well. He had only thought of his own feelings on the matter and what *he* thought Eiji felt, and not about what the catboy *did* feel.

Eiji wouldn't listen if he tried to speak to him in those moments, though. And the catboy had a point... he was too exhausted to really think straight. Anything he intended to say would have to wait.

Eiji says he's not dumb as a post, though he will admit to being very dense (though if Yagyuu ever said that to his face he'd deny it until the cows came home). ^_^
