Open Log: The Day at the Beach

Ken was the first off the bus, taking a deep breath of the salty air of his hometown. His towel was over his shoulder and he had a beachbag and umbrella with him, ready to lie down and dry off after a good swim.

"UMIIIIIIII!"

Today was going to be FUN. They could forget they were mutants, forget they were students and just be KIDS for once. Ken had a frisbee and a beach ball and plenty of sunscreen, he was planning to stay even longer than the others if need be. He wasn't about to waste a moment of his day.

"TAROU-CHAN!"

From down the beach, two other tall, muscled black headed figures waved at the ariving group. One had bowl-cut hair, and the other had short, wildly spiked hair.

"PACHI! NICHI!"

The other two Aoi brothers ran down the beach to meet their younger brother with hugs and noogies.

"Owowowowow!"

Kaidoh was about half a minute slower than Ken-kun - by the time he got off the bus behind their outing "leader," the other was already being noogied by older brothers. Kaidoh hid his smile behind one hand and hefted his bag a little higher. He couldn't go swimming today - couldn't take the image inducer off and couldn't get it wet - but that was okay, because he really didn't have a swimsuit in the first place. He'd left his old one at home, and had figured that a t-shirt and shorts would be all right for the beach, since he wanted to be mostly covered in case of any problems, anyway. Though he knew a t-shirt wouldn't really help, if something like the restaurant happened - but he was determined to enjoy today, and try not to worry about things like that. Ken-kun and all the other students were just so excited! Kaidoh wanted to have fun too - he'd liked going to the beach when he was little, and hadn't been in a long time.

Ken eventually wrestled himself away from the older siblings, lamenting the fact that they were both taller and he couldn't exactly use his powers against them, and planted the umbrella on a nice spot on the beach, stretching out a couple of towels under it as the others who came spread out and did their own thing. He tossed his shirt off onto the towel he claimed as his own and stretched in the sun.

Kennichi and Kenpachi were quite interested in their little brother's schoolmates, especially the boy in the bandana, who was surely the Kaoru-chan they had heard so much about.

Kennichi, the older brother, had straight black hair that looked like it needed a cut, as well as a small goatee. He seemed reserved when placed next to the other two brothers, a more easy air surrounding him. Kenpachi resembled his little brother a little more, with spiked black hair and a cocky edge to his exuberance that gave him a real rascally look.

'Nichi smiled easily at Kaidoh and gave him a small salute, but 'Pachi just looped an arm around him, grinning widely.

"Naa, you must be our little 'Tarou-chan's Kaoru-chan, ne? ...Eh? Somethin' sharp under your shirt?"

Pachi's arm was brushing against some of the concealed spines under Kaidoh's shirt, confusing him considerably.

Kaidoh smiled shyly back at Ken-kun's older brothers - but stiffened a little, worriedly, when one slung an arm around his shoulders.

"Um," he stuttered, blushing, "I... y-yeah. Be careful..." He wanted to slip away, but was afraid that if he moved, he might scrape the other. "It's... it's my mutation," he said quietly, ducking his head a little, still embarrassed. "It - I'm... sharp." Just because he could hide the spikes under an illusion didn't mean other people couldn't feel them.

"Oh, I see! Kinda like how Tarou-chan turns into a big rock!"

Ken laughed and stuck his tongue out at Pachi before getting out a tube of sunscreen and rubbing some on. Pachi hadn't moved his arm yet, and seemed to be busying himself with loking Kaidoh over. Nichi had wandered off when a pretty girl caught his eye, waving with a cursory "seeya later."

"Uwwaaaaa! Tarou-chan, he's really cute when he blushes!"

Pachi grinned and poked Kaidoh's red warm cheek gently, like a kid.

"Isn't he, isn't he!? Ne, ne Kaoru-chan! Want me to put some sunscreen on you?"

Kaidoh had to smile a little, at that - so it looked like Ken's brothers didn't care at all. Well, he thought, if they were anything like their brother (and it seemed they were, quite a bit) then it really wasn't surprising in the end. "Yeah," he admitted, but still not moving for another moment, just in case.

He just blushed more, though, when both Aois still present cooed over his blush. But then Ken-kun gave him a way out - "Uh... sure," he said, slipping carefully out from beneath Pachi's arm to approach Ken's blanket. "I d-don't need much... I might just stay in the shade for a bit..."

"Uh-huh! That's fine, but you'll go into the sun later to play volleyball and stuff, right? We'll play further up the beach to you don't get your, err, watch wet. Hehehe."

Ken unabashedly pushed Kaidoh's shirt up, carefully feeling for the bones beneath the hologram so he wouldn't snag the material and rip it. He didn't mind buying Kaoru more shirts, but he knew it made the other boy feel bad.

"Gotta get it all over you or you'll burn up! Hold still, now!"

Pachi looked on in envy as Ken rubbed sun lotion into Kaidoh's already nicely tanned skin. Those muscles looked like they took a lot of work to get too...

Ken himself was rather lecherously enjoying putting his hands on his boyfriend in public. Let everyone look upon how hot they were together!

Kaidoh blinked, but Ken had already tugged his shirt carefully upwards, and without snagging on anything, at least. He tried not to squirm - he wasn't used to having anyone do anything like this for him, and it felt a little strange... but kind of good, he had to admit inwardly. He leaned forward a little to make it easier, closing his eyes a moment. He wasn't too afraid that Ken would scrape himself - he seemed to be learning quickly where all the sharper pieces was, and though Kaidoh did still worry a little, Ken always assured him he couldn't really hurt himself badly on the spikes.

"I... guess," he murmured, in regards to the volleyball. "I... I don't want to ruin the ball, though..." Maybe he could referree the game...
