Summary: Midnight snacks. Look…I'm remembering to post it. x.x

Kamio swung the icebox door open, standing in it's chilly glow as he examined the contents of his shelves. No one in the Brotherhood, to his knowledge, cooked -- him least of all -- but at least he could throw together something edible out of whatever scraps he found. It was more a matter of time and patience than skill, though he had little of any of the three. The kitchen was otherwise dark and empty, the majority of the manor probably sleeping.

His lovers weren't, of course, but that was not surprising, and might have joined him in the kitchen had he not gotten up originally to go for a brief run. Ten minute sprints around the perimeter of the Brotherhood's grounds, at his top speed, actually afforded him some respite from the constantly building adrenaline. He didn't jitter as much, though he would always remain restless, and more importantly…he could actually eat once he'd burned some of it off. Banji had surmised that it was the continuous tension his power caused that stamped down his appetite.

Not that the redhead was gaining weight, but he wasn't loosing it either.

Pulling out the carton of milk, he opened it and gave it a tentative sniff to make sure it was still good, then set it on the nearby counter. Next, he pulled out the bread, a thing of lunchmeat, and some sliced cheese. There were chips already on the counter that he could have, but that didn't seem like quite enough for the redhead. Kamio frowned; he'd last eaten dinner with his two lovers, but nothing since.

No wonder he was hungry.

Glancing at the food on the counter, he decided it wasn't enough and bent down to open the vegetable crisper. Most of that stuff needed thrown away, to be honest, but the redhead wasn't on kitchen clean-up duty -- hell, was anyone on clean-up duty? -- and he only wanted to eat and get back upstairs before the tiger and the illusionist missed him too much. Pushing aside some things, he dug out the only thing in the crisper that looked halfway edible.

A package of red grapes.

Satisfied that Ohtori was well and truly asleep for the night, Shishido pulled himself away from his boyfriend and headed downstairs to get some food. He had snacked a bit upstairs but he was really craving something sweet and juicy, and maybe a sandwich if he was feeling really ambitious. Padding down the halls on bare feet he turned in to the kitchen and nearly jumped when he saw someone there. "God Kamio, turn a damn light on or something." He said roughly though he often left the lights off himself when making food. "Give me a freaking heart attack why don't you." He muttered as he flicked on the light and tried to get his ruffled wings under control. He could feel the toxins in them, meaning that his control was still lacking and that he'd want to avoid touching Kamio with them.

"What are you making?" He asked walking up to the other to take a look over his food and see what he might want to steal for himself. That's when he saw them. His grapes, piled up on the counter to be polished off with rest of the goods. "Oshitari has you stealing my grapes for him now?" He asked as he plucked a few grapes off the bunch and popped one in his mouth. Mmmm the chilled sweetness was enough to make him hum.

The voice behind him startled the redhead, and Kamio jerked involuntarily, dropping both the knife and the lid to the plastic jar of mayonnaise he'd been holding. The lid clanged and swiveled on the Formica. "Holy shit," he cursed, spinning around and blinking in the sudden light. Stepping back against the counter, the redhead held back the urge to pull the knife carefully tucked in the small of his back.

He was at home, however much the Brotherhood could really be called such, after all.

"Wings! Make some noise or something before you do that." Glancing down at the floor, where the knife had landed, he frowned and sighed. "Didn’t need that much light to just fix a quick snack." Though given how much of the contents of the fridge he had atop the counter, it was more like a simple meal.

Kamio crouched down and picked up the knife, cutting across the kitchen to rinse it off in the sink. He wasn't the most fastidious person in the Brotherhood, no, but if he didn't have to fix his sandwich with a dirty knife, why would he? Zipping back across the kitchen, he screwed the lid back on the mayonnaise jar and shrugged. "Nothing much," he admitted as he put the jar back in the icebox, then turned to close up the two halves of his sandwich. "Sandwich…some chips. I'm hungry. And yeah, was thinking about stealing a few. Not Yuu's idea though."

Shishido considered that for a moment and giving Kamio a judging look, broke off a few little bunches from his larger bunch of grapes before sliding them towards the red head's plate. He couldn't let a fellow high metabolism mutant starve to death now.

Munching on a few of his grapes, Shishido walked to the fridge and took a peek inside, they were getting pretty low on stuff, but with so many teenaged males in the house that wasn't really surprising. "Maybe I can ask Choutarou to go get some groceries tomorrow." He knew his boyfriend would say yes, and would probably even buy some of those chocolate mint sticks that he liked so much but would never admit to. He'd go himself to some all night place, but with the increase in anti-mutant attacks, he'd rather not risk his wings being seen in a well lit store with few exits.

Kamio raised an eyebrow at the bunches of grapes being slide towards his plate, nodding and muttering a soft, "Thanks, Wings," in response. He made short work of his sandwich while the other looked in the fridge, and was dusting the bread crumbs from his fingers as the other spoke up.

"Might be a good idea for someone to go. It's getting bare in there and the damn thing needs cleaned out too," he grumbled. One of the disadvantages of living with a bunch of other teenage boys, he supposed. "Don't think anyone's done anything with that stuff since Nanako-san left." The redhead reached overhead, pulling open the cabinets with the glasses and finding a clean one, then poured the milk into he. "I can go with him if he wants," he sighed. "Just have to tell Yuu and Kou where we'll be."

There was no sense in causing his two boyfriends the sort of panics that they caused him, after all.

Shishido had to admit the fridge was getting pretty gross looking and the baking soda container in there didn't seem to be picking up the funky smells like it used to. Well, since he couldn't go out to get the food, he guessed he could at least clean up the kitchen a bit. "I can clean the place out if you two get the food." He put his cheese and bread on the cutting board and started making his sandwich.

"Just make sure you tell Oshitari and Saeki or I'm gonna be stuck listening to them whine." And come up with the most absurd stories about Kamio's abduction ever.

Finished making his cheese sandwich he tossed the cheese back in the fridge and closed up the bread. "Perfect meal." Shishido proclaimed proudly as he took a big bite of cheesiness.

"Yeah, yeah, I will," Kamio agreed as he munched on his chips and finished off the glass of milk. "And…if you'd take care of the 'fridge, that'd be good." Because he wasn't sure he wanted to touch anything else in it. "Tori and I can go grab some stuff. Would take Yuu 'cause he probably does need out of the house, but…" He paused and sighed. "Someone should stay with Kou and I'm not sure I want him and Ohtori on their own again." As he spoke, he frowned and shook his head, adding a soft "Idiots," under his breath.

It wasn't that he was still angry at them for vanishing like they had, but thinking about it still irritated him to no end. He'd been worried -- hell, scared if he wanted to be honest with himself -- after everything that had happened. Though at least Oshitari hadn't gone alone; Kamio would have just preferred that he and Saeki had been the ones watching his back.

Turning his to watch Shishido finish up his own sandwich and took a bite, the redhead raised one eyebrow. "Wings, there's nothing on there but some cheese," he pointed out.

"I'd offer to baby-sit the kitty, but I'm guessing you want someone that might actually be awake." Shishido said taking another bite of his sandwich. He was assuming the others would go shopping during daylight and well, Shishido wasn't good for much then.

At the comment to his sandwich he looked over at Kamio with an incredulous expression. "Yeah I know, that's why I'm eating." Shishido rolled his eyes and took another big bite with a smile. It was good.

Kamio gave a small shrug. "Well, yeah, but hell, I think Yuu naps half the damn day when Kou's sleeping anyway." Not that the redhead minded, as it made them both much easier to locate when he came back into the room.

Quickly polishing off the last of the grapes, the redhead collected the dishes he'd used, moved over to the sink and turned on the water. It took only a few seconds for him to scrub his own -- no, he wasn't cleaning the pile that filled the sink as well -- and set them aside to dry. "Just tell Tori to send me a message or something when he wants to go. Never know when I'll be in the room." Another shrug, and the redhead turned to watch the other eat a sandwich consisting of only cheese and bread.

And Banji really said his own eating habits were a mess?

"Sure, Wings," he sighed, shaking his head. "You live off grapes and cheese or something?"

"Lazy bastards." Shishido said pleasantly still munching on both his sandwich and grapes now. "And I'll pass it along to Choutarou when he wakes up." And maybe after a nice morning make out session. He grinned around his sandwich at the thought. It would be his reward for cleaning the kitchen. Eyeing the sink as Kamio cleaned off his dishes, he felt like he deserved a ton of rewards if he managed to clean it all.

"And I don't live off of grapes and cheese." He just liked those two things best to snack on. "Besides, not like I have a lot of options." His wings ruffled slightly at his eating habits being criticized. He ate what he could and it wasn't like he was the underweight one. Well he didn't weigh as much as he should, but that was because of hollow bones, his fat and muscle ratios were perfectly fine.

"They can be," Kamio agreed with a smirk. "But when they're not, well…" He let his voice trail off, his smile a bit more smug because really, his boyfriends weren't lazy when it counted. "Though…guess you could try to drag one of them down here to help ya, Wings." The kitchen was a mess, after all, and even Kamio could figure out that it would take a lot for one person to clean it. Though he doubted that either of his lovers would be too happy with being volunteered. The redhead smirked and shrugged; it would keep the two of them out of trouble, maybe even distracted while he was gone with Ohtori, depending on when they left.

Besides, it would be easier if everyone chipped in to help sometimes. Even Kamio could figure that out.

"We can grab some basic stuff, at least. Might grab some things for upstairs too."

Glancing over at the winged mutant, Kamio chuckled as his feathers ruffled. "It's all I ever see you eat," he pointed out. "And you don't have Banji lecturing you on nutrition every time you see him." He shrugged.

Shishido's wings ruffled as his mind wandered down the path Kamio was hinting at. He really did not need to think about three of his friends that way. He distracted himself with picking several grapes off the bunch and creating a neat little pile on his napkin. "They'd probably just make a bigger mess." He said around a grape he'd just popped in his mouth. Oshitari had probably never cleaned a thing in his life and Saeki would probably get bored and nap in the middle of the kitchen or something. Shishido was sure it would go faster if those two weren't helping him out.

"As long as I have my grapes I'm happy." Shishido said with a grin before it faded. "And I do eat other things, not my fault you don't see me eating it. And just lie to Banji and tell him you eat your 3 balanced meals and a million snacks a day." He took another big bite of his sandwich and started searching through the cupboards for a clean glass. "Or learn to jump out windows to avoid him." He smiled around the food in his mouth and gave a little sound of victory as he found a clean cup to use.

Kamio smirked again at the ruffling; he could certainly see why his lovers thought this was fun, but he wasn't quite cruel enough to his friends to continue on the same path. "They would," he agreed, "just to get out of doing it. And yeah, you certainly have a thing for grapes." Kamio shrugged. They were all right, he supposed, better when he was straddling Oshitari's lap and having them passed from his lover's mouth to his own, but nothing worth getting so defensive about in his opinion.

Food was just food, after all.

"I tried that, then he did a freakin' blood test," Kamio rolled his eyes and sighed deeply. It was…annoying, yes, the way the old man pestered him about his eating habits. He already had Saeki, and now Oshitari, after him to actually eat, but according to the resident doctor, even that might not be entirely his own fault. "And I'm not jumping out a window, Wings. Geeze. At least…he figured out some stuff about why I don't like people think I should. More than that other idiot did."

"There's nothing wrong with grapes." Shishido muttered in to the fridge as he pulled out some orange juice that still smelled good to drink. "And he actually did a blood test?" Just the thought made Shishido scowl, he hated blood tests and doctors in general. Ever since they were completely useless to help him when his wings came in. Being tied to a bed and pumped with pain killers was not his idea of fun. And being examined every day for the next month wasn't either.

Shishido would never be able to say he missed the doctor that Oshitari scared off. "At least Banji seems to care about us." That was his only consolation whenever he was dragged in to a doctor's appointment. Anybody who helped his boyfriend the way he did wasn't all that bad.

"Never said there was," Kamio pointed out. The redhead stretched and yawned, his body just worn down enough for the moment. Maybe with a little more…exercise, he could get a couple of hours of sleep.

He'd have to go upstairs and talk to his lovers about that.

"He does blood tests on me every time he sees me," Kamio groaned. "I feel like I'm his fucking pincushion." Crossing his arms over his chest, the redhead frowned and rubbed at the inside of his elbow -- the last place that the old man had punctured him. He didn't care much for doctors himself, having spent a good deal of his childhood in a doctor's office for his 'hyperactivity' and supposed ADHD. "So long as he doesn't try to give me any pills…" Kamio scowled and shook his head.

"And yeah, that's true," he agreed. "He's better than some of the quacks I've been to, seems to actually know what he's talking about."

"You implied it." Shishido said putting away the juice and moving back to his food. Why did people have to pick on his snack food?

Resuming his meal, Shishido looked over at Kamio as he talked about the doctor. He couldn't imagine getting blood tests every time he visited, but he also avoided the doctor like the plague. "Pills would suck. And they probably do so many tests since they have nothing compare your mutation to." He wasn't a complete idiot. He knew that without other cases of the same mutancy to go on, the doctors had to guess what was normal and what wasn't. Tests were a necessary evil to help out future generations and to make sure their mutation wasn't going to start killing them like Blackguard's seemed to be doing to him.

Scowling at his sandwich, he briefly wondered where Blackguard was and decided he was happier not knowing and Ohtori was better off without him and the memories of killing too.

Kamio smirked. "Only a little," he confessed, and then only because Shishido's grape obsession was so amusing. He'd probably picked up on that from Oshitari though.

His boyfriends were rubbing off on him. Surprising, that. Really.

"Probably wouldn't mind so much if they'd ever actually done some good," the redhead complained lightly. He didn't mind the doctor half as much as some of the others; he still didn't like going, and would complain every time he had to -- especially when he had been avoiding the man -- but at least Banji didn't ask him the creepiest questions about his feline-morph boyfriend. "And yeah, I know." Another sigh, and Kamio ran his fingers through his hair.

Finishing off his sandwich, Shishido shot Kamio a look, "Yeah, well they're good and I like them anyway." He stuck out his tongue and scooped up a few more grapes to munch on. He didn't bother talking about doctors anymore. He had a feeling that if they kept this up, Banji would pop up beside him and drag him off for tests that he's been avoiding. Instead he just finished his juice in silence.

Kamio can volunteer Saeki for either grocery shopping or cleaning up the fridge. Gonna have to let Saeki start shapeshifting more easily (though heck, still gonna hurt every time). ^_^
