Summary: Kippei sneaks out goes to visit Blackguard in the infirmary.

Kippei didn't tell Shinji where he was going. Not exactly, anyway. He said he was going for a walk to return some books to the library and presumably get some new ones, and he didn't give Shinji time to offer to come with him before he left. It wasn't that he didn't want Shinji's company--he did, of course. But he didn't particularly want Shinji involved in this.

"I'll be back soon," he said over his shoulder as he walked out the door. Shinji was kind of busy anyway, which was why Kippei had picked now to leave. He wasn't sneaking--exactly--but he was evading. Yeah. He turned down the hall, which incidentally led past the library, and headed for the infirmary.

Kippei was an idiot. Shinji blinked at the door, and cocked his head to the side while he listened to Kippei arguing with himself all the way down the damn hallway. Things like sneaking, evading, not wanting Shinji involved. And that overwhelming sense of trying to protect him. While it was rather neat that Kippei felt that way it was also damnably annoying. But Kippei was still stronger than Shinji, and could do that floating thing to stop Shinji from following him....if he knew Shinji was.

So Shinji waited until Kippei was out of sight, and then grabbed his shoes, bolting out the door and down the hall, past the library and toward the infirmary. Was he sick again? Hurt? Couldn't he have told Shinji? Damn, stubborn fool. Shinji already knew he wasn't invincible!

It didn't really occur to Kippei that Shinji might follow him. He had been sure Shinji was occupied enough when he left that he wouldn't really have listened to where Kippei was going or what he was doing, or been that curious if he had. He was not really thinking about where he was going, either, he'd already made up his mind. But he was leaving Shinji out of this, because....well, because.

He already knew Shinji was not going to be happy if--or probably when--he found out, but Kippei was sick and tired of not doing anything about things. Things like mutant hating stupid humans who tried to hurt Shinji. He wanted to hurt them back, kill them, cause damage and destruction because he hated them too. He didn't really have any clear ideas about how to do that--just pure, unfocused rage. So he was going to talk to someone else who did.

The infirmary smelled. Smelled of disinfectant, bleach, sterilizing medical equipment.. And it had the lingering smell of burning flesh, Blackguard sadly noted from his position in his new bed. He lay there, staring at the ceiling and cursing his bad luck with mumbled words, the morphine drip in his arm making it hard to do much other than sleep.

Why was it He who had to collapse, why did God see fit to suck away his abilities, to feel the burning and accursed pain from his hands and chest. It was God’s fault, wasn’t it? He did see white as he fell, after all.. And now his chest felt as if it was stuffed with cotton.

Kippei thought maybe this wasn't the best time to be talking to Blackguard, considering the guy was incapacitated by that damn whatever it was that was disrupting everyone's abilities. But on the other hand, maybe it was the best time, since he had to be frustrated by being stuck in here. Kippei had sympathy. The infirmary sucked. So did being incapacitated. And he did have something to offer that might help. His own powers weren't exactly reliable right now, but he decided that didn't matter. He could still cause a hell of a lot of damage, and better to do it where it counted.

"Hey," he greeted as he walked into the room. It smelled like destruction in here already. Perfect. "I need to talk to you." He grinned, rather fiercely.

Blackguard? Shinji stood corridors away, gaping at a wall. What the hell was Kippei doing paying Blackguard a visit in the infirmary? Were they friends? How come Kippei had never mentioned that before? Frowning darkly Shinji figured it would be best to keep his distance and so headed for the room on the opposite side of the wall from the infirmary before opening himself to all the stupid people around.

Kippei was so getting an earful, and then some. How dare he decide he wants to go on a murderous rampage and not tell him? And how dare he assume Shinji was too innocent or what the fuck ever to go too! And what the hell did he have to talk to Blackguard about that he couldn't talk about with Shinji...he had a brain too! It took all of Shinji's effort not to transform every single thought he could hear into an outlet for his own aggrevated fury. Kippei was so a dead man.

Blackguard wished he could seat himself up to talk eye-to-eye with Kippei, his mouth twisting into a sadistic grin as he stared upwards at this most Godlike of Mutants.

“Brother.. How nice to see you in such a good mood!” He rattled out, throat sore and chest shaking, raising one cast-covered hand to motion to the young man. “As you can see, Brother.. I’m not in too good condition. I consider my day to be taking a turn for the better, however...With you here, it means I can still continue what my dreams entail, does it not?” Blackguard choked out, eyes closed as he tried to sound as brotherly as he could, with a good majority of his chest pitted.

“But I didn’t exactly send for you.. What is it you want..” He shot a confused but oddly knowing look towards him, grin twisting to a smirk. Like he didn’t know what a Brother truly wanted..

Kippei shook his head, moving a little closer to stand beside the bed. His hands at his sides were curled into fists, as if that was helping him contain his restless energy.

"What I want? Is simple. The question is what do you want? I don't really care what I do, I just want fuck shit up. Lots of it. I'm tired of sitting around here not doing anything. Not fighting. I want to kill things and blow things up and drop whole buildings and I want them to die. All the humans," he spat, scowling now. "I hate them." He wasn't even shouting; his voice just got lower and more intense as he spoke.

He really needed something to do with all this anger before he ended up hurting someone he didn't intend to. Someone like Shinji. He didn't really think that could happen, but he was feeling less and less in control lately, and he didn't like it. He needed a target, and Blackguard could give him that. "Just tell me where to go, and I'll do it. Whatever you've got planned, I don't care--as long as it means humans die, I'm in."

Shinji blinked, leaning back, startled when his back hit the solidity of the wall, sliding down it in a heap to stare at the floor. Wow...Kippei really hated people.. He hadnt hated them that much before...

Before they shot him. Twice! That still made Shinji furious. But apparently that didn't bother Kippei as much as the fact they had tried to hurt Shinji, which was cute in a way but Shinji didn't at all like the way Kippei seemed to have changed, even just a tiny bit, because of his fear that Shinji might one day get hurt. It didnt have a problem with Kippei murdering as many pathetic people as he wanted; hell. Shinji had done that. No, Shinji had a problem if Kippei hadn't wanted to do that before meeting him. Shinji didn't want to change Kippei, ever, because Kippei was perfect. Blackguard had better fucking watch what he thought, or Shinji was going in there as soon as Kippei left and ripping the bastard to pieces.

Mildly taken aback - meaning his eyebrow rose slowly - by Kippei’s oddly intense tone of voice, Blackguard continued smirking, his hand wavering as he tried to hold it up in the air, emphasizing each point with it since he could not exactly use body language at this time.

“Aah. You want a Mission, Brother?” He spoke softly, adjusting to the feeling of his throat burning up and his chest throbbing with a dulled pain. “Easy enough. I was going to use this one for myself, but, I don’t know if I’ll exactly be able to carry it out..” Clearing his throat, and then regretting it the second afterwards, Blackguard rubbed at his face with a heavy hand. “Government based operation, in the countryside so as not to attract attention. Don’t ask how I got this information because it’s mightily embarrassing and I don’t want to deal with that, Brother.”

He smiled through the morphine daze. “I want you to.. Interrogate.. And then dispose of.. Ever scientist in that operation. What are they doing here. Are they just some Anti-Mutant group that’s got it’s claws into government money? Are they foreign and trying to keep track of Brotherhood and Ryu’Hana? Find out everything. And then cover your tracks by making it seem like something.. I don’t know, destroy the place.”

Slightly taken aback in his turn--meaning his brow furrowed and he studied the other man for a silent moment before replying--Kippei tilted his head, trying to keep track of the questions he was meant to find answers to, and wondering exactly what interrogate was supposed to mean. This was sounding a bit more complicated than he'd been counting on.

"Scientists?" he asked slowly. "You want me to... ask them stuff?" He looked doubtful. "Can't I just kill them and level the building?" He wasn't at all sure why it mattered where they were from or who gave them their money. They experimented on mutants, they should die. Simple.

“I mean for you, Brother, to ask them simple questions as you pound their faces into mush. If you find out something interesting, you can destroy them. I don’t care for kidnapping one at this moment in time, however, you can be sure that if there are files there, I encourage you to bring them back and we’ll have someone close.. Go over them.” Blackguard sighed out, his hand heavy on his face and kinda pushing down his nose. The morphine clouded his better judgment, dropping the emphasis on most normally emphasized words.

Peeking out between a couple of his red-raw fingers and the nearly translucent flesh on said, Blackguard smiled up at Kippei, tilting his head along his pillow. “If you find out everything you need to know within the first few men, I insist on killing them all brutally. Primates don’t deserve to walk this Earth beside us Gods.”

"Hmm." Kippei considered this. "Scientists. Not much of a fight." Beating people up was more fun when they hit you back. Still, they were humans and couldn't be expected to put up much of a fight anyway, so maybe it didn't matter.

Dismissing the rhetoric, he nodded, signifying his agreement. Kill them all, of course; his personal reasons had very little to do with supposed godhood, not that it made a difference. Dead was dead. The results were the same. And he would get to make a quake big enough to bring down the entire building to dust, so that would make up for the slightly disappointing nature of the rest.

They were both insane; there was no other explaination. Shinji stared at the floor, a dark frown marring otherwise cold features. He'd smack them both upside the head; after he got to see Kippei let loose, because that was going to be hot as hell. Still, he wondered what the hell the scientists were actually doing and was disgruntled to realise he understood Blackguard a little. At least the guy wasn't a total moron; Shinji had been wondering.

Though he didn't seem to understand Kippei that well. Shinji could have told him what Kippei really wanted, and he could have had him bringing down Tokyo tower or something instead of trying to do what should have been Shinji's job. But no one had thought to ask him, idiots. Kippei had better put on a damn good show to make up for treating him like he was made of spun sugar.

Blackguard let his arms drop back down to his sides slowly, hoping not to move the IVs in any awkward way as that would hurt him more than he’s realized something like this would hurt. “..oh.. They might have some kind of alarm. You’re very noticeable, you know.” Blackguard sighed out, the very action causing his chest to feel as though someone lit it on fire -- and this was with the morphine. “Watch out for guards or.. Whatever they have there. I didn’t get any schematics. Enjoy yourself, however.” He smiled.

“Take out a couple trucks.”

Kippei nodded again, more firmly. Guards he could handle. He wasn't worried. Very few people were used to fighting in zero gee, or greatly increased gravity either for that matter. He could always create one of those weird sideways fields and pin them all to the walls.

"You know where this place is?" He needed directions, or something. He doubted it was going to be in the phone book.

“As this mission was to be for myself, Brother? The directions are located handily beside my computer, in my room. I didn’t expect to have to give someone a mission briefing.” Blackguard muttered out, eyes closed and fingertips digging into the bed sheets. “it’s easier for you to go read them, than for me to have to force myself to talk for such long periods of time as these. My chest hurts, Brother, and if you haven’t noticed, it’s missing a large amount of flesh.”

Kippei nodded once more, and turned to leave. He had all he needed to know, really. No reason to disturb the sick man any longer. Relieved to have something to do, he set his jaw with determination. Maybe it wasn't perfect, but it was a lot better than nothing.

"Thank you," he said simply. "I'll be sure to take care of it properly for you." He headed out the door and hurried back toward his room. Maybe if he was lucky, Shinji hadn't noticed he was gone, and he wouldn't have to explain anything. There was no way he was telling Shinji about this. Not this time.

Oh, shit shit shit! Shinji raced out of the room and down the opposite hallway, trying to remember the quicker way back to the room, the whole time letting his thoughts stew about that last. No way he was telling Shinji about this? Like he had a fucking choice!

Not that there was anything in that to be proud of, but still Shinji wanted to kick his arse. Or maybe he could distract him so he didn't want to go...That might work. Sprinting, Shinji burst into the room and raced back to the desk, taking deep breaths to try and calm his racing heart, because that was something Kippei would definitely notice. Damn infuriating man.
