Summary: Some sparring; Yagyuu demonstrates the current extent of his powers...

The spar with Shishido-san was not going in Yagyuu's favor. The winged boy had much more combat training, leaving Yagyuu with only his wits and grace to give him a potential advantage. He'd managed to last for most of the session acting defensively, but that hadn't gained him any points -- though it had prevented his mutation from being triggered, which he had to admit he was the least bit thankful for. He wasn't sure how he would deal with manifesting a physical mutation, least of all one as unwieldy as Shishido's massive wings.

Shishido was enjoying himself sparring with Yagyuu, the mutant had some interesting defence techniques, even if his offensive was severely lacking. Though that would come in time. Feeling they'd been at this long enough, Shishido slipped past an opening in Yagyuu's defence he had been eyeing for a while and went to bring his partner to the ground. He moved in and kicked a foot out behind Yagyuu's leg and moved a hand swiftly up to Yagyuu's neck to force him down, all the while trying to make sure his wings stayed moving so they wouldn't become an easy target. The winning point would be his.

Yagyuu flinched as Shishido's hand met his neck, effectively pinning him to the cold floor of the training room. The grip was thankfully light, but was nonetheless contact, and Yagyuu tried to pull out of Shishido's grasp. His gloved hands moved to the other boy's wrist, as if that might make him ease his grip. "It's yours," he said, "I concede."

Shishido smiled and wiped the sweat out of his face with his other hand, making the other suffer just that bit longer. He seemed really irritated by it really, perhaps he didn't like losing. "It was a good spar." Shishido said finally removing his hand, "Though I'm a bit disappointed I didn't get to see your powers at all." He liked learning more about other people's powers, he'd yet to see any two be the same yet. He brushed his hands off against his pants, looking closely at a forming blister on his hand. That was annoying.

Yagyuu stood up, adjusting his collar and glasses, and combed his fingers through his hair -- he was far from presentable; he would need a shower later, but it never hurt to at least attempt a good presentation while one could still manage it. "I imagine you'll be seeing them quite soon," he said.

And just a moment -- or a fraction of one -- passed after the words has crossed his lips, before he could feel himself shifting, skin stretching and compacting. It didn't hurt -- it never did -- and it didn't take long; when he opened his eyes he found slimmer fingers on his hands, felt much longer hair brushing his shoulders.

He glanced behind him, afraid that Shishido's wings might have come with the rest of his appearance, and was relieved to find that they had not -- perhaps there simply wasn't enough of him to be stretched into the appearance of such large appendages. That suited Yagyuu just as well. "Satisfied?" he asked, in his own voice.

Shishido turned to look at Yagyuu just in time to see one of the freakiest things he had ever witnessed. Right before his eyes he saw Yagyuu's skin shifting and changing and his hair growing and changing colour and the next thing he knew he was looking at himself. Or more like his old self since he didn't have wings. He stared somewhat dumbly at what looked to be himself and managed to nod. Now that was one tripped out power. Now if only he could get his voice to work and stop looking so shell shocked, things would be going a lot better. If someone could copy his powers, why not his looks, right?

"Well? Are you?" he asked again. "Don't need to stare, you'd think you'd never seen yourself before." He tossed his head to the side, the long hair cascading over his shoulders. He itched for something to pull it back with, but as there was nothing handy, he'd have to settle for it falling into his face. Another slim hand pushed it out of his eyes; he could feel his posture shifting as well, echoing that of the boy standing in front of him. He was ... more casual, he noticed, more aggressive; hot-tempered and sure of himself. It wasn't a bad morph, he decided. If only he could modulate his voice to mimic the other's as well....

Shishido mentally slapped himself a few times and found that yes, his voice did work, "Very satisfied, but I've never seen myself in person like this." He said leaning in a bit closer to get a better look at himself, err Yagyuu. "Wow. You even have that freckle right under my ear." He said vaguely pointing it out while wondering if his nose really looked that weird from the side. Would it be wrong to run his hands through his own hair while it was technically belonging to another person? He blinked, he was starting to confuse himself. Thank god Yagyuu-Shishido didn't have wings.

"The morph's precise," he stated, "but superficial. Anything internal's still me, which is why I don't sound like you, too. Which is too bad," he added with a grin, "because that might make things more interesting, don't you think?" It probably wasn't going to last much longer, either; the initial contact hadn't been that long, and the length of time he held the morph was proportional to that. "Maybe when I can morph your wings I can beat you, too."

"More interesting?" Shishido asked while giving in to the urge to poke at Yagyuu's hair that had morphed into a copy of his own. He then thought about the possibilities a copy of himself could do, for one, he could mess with a lot of people who would think his wings were suddenly hacked off. He smirked a bit, it would also probably be a great way to mess with the poor humans' minds - Not like there was a challenge in that though. "And it will take more than wings to beat me." He said arrogantly before curiosity took over, "Can you control how you morph now?"

"Depends on what you mean by control," he replied. "I've got the timing down, but it's not like I can choose how far or how deep it goes." The long hair was falling into his eyes again, and he pushed it back behind an ear, hoping that it would stay put this time.

Yagyuu noted, absently, that his speech patterns were already falling in line with Shishido's, even if his voice couldn't change. He had so much more fun when he could be reckless. "Won't need wings when I can copy your agility," he added -- which wasn't now, he knew; but it would be a hell of a lot sooner than the time when he could mimic mutations. But Shishido didn't know that. "Or anything else you've got."

Shishido chuckled, "You'll need more than my looks to copy the rest." He said blinking a bit as he realised Yagyuu was starting to mimic the way he spoke. "Though you do seem to be good at copying things your powers don't." Or don't yet. He had a feeling that Yagyuu's powers would be a force to be reckoned with once they were fully developed, it would be interesting to watch.

"How long will the morph last?" While he did enjoy looking at himself, it was still a bit disconcerting. Especially since the Shishido looking back at him had glasses on.

He shrugged. "Few more minutes, I think. It's not very consistent." A short laugh and another toss of his hair -- really, how did Shishido deal with it? -- and he asked, "So we're done here? Or did you want to go another round?" He grinned, realizing that it could very well be to his benefit if the other boy was thrown off enough by the prospect of facing himself in combat.

And he wondered why he hadn't thought of it before now -- it had to be off-putting for anyone, not just Shishido. Maybe he'd try a morph right off the bat next time....

Watching his hair, that wasn't really his, be whipped around he couldn't quite keep the urge to touch it at bay. "Are there ways to make it last longer?" he asked, finally giving in and reaching out to tuck loose hair behind his own ear - even though it was technically Yagyuu. "And yeah, were done. I'd be useless for another round." He wouldn't be able to focus right, and he wasn't good enough to beat someone unless he was putting forth 100%.

"If the touch's longer," Yagyuu explained. "It's proportional, I know that much -- the longer the initial contact, the longer the --" he paused, breath catching as Shishido touched his hair. Did he really like it that much? A level eye fixed on him from behind wire frames. He must, if it still looked as good as it did after sparring.

He cleared his throat, then, and stood a little straighter; if Shishido was done, then so was he. The morph couldn't last for much longer, after all. "Guess I'll see you then," he said. "And thanks," he added over his shoulder as he headed for the door.

Letting his hand drop away from the hair, Shishido just nodded and let the other mutant back away to leave. "No problem, and we should do it again some time." He said casually as he stayed a bit longer to stretch out.
