Hi, everyone!

This is Jen, one of your friendly neighborhood moderators, with some handy information regarding the backgrounds of both of our factions. We've tried to put at least something on the main information page for the community, but we also know that there's a lot of really tiny text there and it's easy to miss information -- or to even remember it once you've read it. We also know that not everyone here has a background in comics -- we're all coming from Tenipuri backgrounds, for the most part, so a lot of what's known about the X-Men universe comes from either the movies or the cartoons. And for those of you who do have a background in comics, here's a few reminders. ^_^

The Brotherhood
The Brotherhood is a secret terrorist organization whose belief is mutant supremacy. The characters that are involved in the Brotherhood should be aware of this information -- even if they are going to classes, and say that they're at a school, their goals should be congruent with the Brotherhood's. While they do employ recruitment methods among mutants -- especially powerful ones who can aid in their terrorist attacks -- they do not tolerate resistance, and seek to spread the ideal of mutants as a superior race. (Feel free to plot some mayhem! It makes life interesting. ^_^)

Ryuhana
Ryuhana, on the other hand, actually is a legitimate, accredited scholastic institution. It does have a public face as a school for the gifted, but not as a school for mutants -- much like Xavier's in the comics. Parents are not able to seek out Ryuhana as a "drop-off point" for their students; instead, the school's staff approaches the family to inform them of their child's special talents and needs. Ryuhana's ideals are that of integration and understanding -- they want to promote tolerance and acceptance rather than blind fear or supremacy. They believe that humans and mutants can live and work together.

Thank you!
